Just missed accidents without hearing aids on

One time when I was eight my mom took me to a pedicure party at a co-workers house. I had my hearing aids in, but I still missed them all telling me to be careful of the tiny step between the living room and the kitchen. I tripped on it and fell so hard on of my hearing aids fell out and slid...

    Cha CHing!

Yeah, lol, after having a non-name-brand analogue aid for a looooong time before these, which was hard to get serviced, I went with something more popular. Lol.

    Cha CHing!

I have full shells, not the little in the canal ones. Lol. For some reason the audi just thought I could do with the thin tubes. (Hate them.) Plus, if they'll fit, ear gear makes the square minis which slide on from the bottom. And if you're not allergic to latex, there are always Super Seals...

    Cha CHing!

I have thin tubes on my aids, and they unscrew from the top of the aid. I put a pic in.

Which aids are right for me?

Why did you just take two of other people's posts and mash them together? You seem to repost other people's posts alot.

Which aids are right for me?

Hello, lol. I see Safarigirl already threw my name out there. It's true, I do have a similar hearing loss. It must be noted that cookie bites are notoriously hard to fit. Our hearing is okay in some frequencies, but poor in others, making it hard to find a HA with an appropriate range. You need...

Help.. Am I getting it wrong?

I notice you said that you have open fit HA's. It could be the domes, sometimes the plastic can be uncomfortable, or even rub the inside of your ear. My recommendation would be to get soft silicone molds. They not have very small/discrete ones that don't feel occluded and yet are very comfortable.

    Tubes

I have a reverse slope hearing loss that's severe in the low frequencies, but becomes moderate in the high frequencies. Almost mild. They said my high frequency hearing loss was not so bad, so that's why they gave me the thin tubes. I can have a tone hook on my aids, they came with a hook for...

    Tubes

My last set of molds came free because I was getting new hearing aids. Lol, I suppose they wouldn't break the bank, but I'm a poor college student. 60 dollars is like two weeks or more of groceries for me. Lol.

    Tubes

Yeah, I know for sure the thick tubing will not fit. I was just debating on whether I should shell out the money for new molds earlier that is necessary, or just suck it up for another six months or so. Uhg. So expensive, but an increase in sound quality may jest make it worth it...

    Tubes

So I already asked one person this, and now I'm curious if anyone else can weigh in. My hearing aids have thin tubes on them and full, soft ear molds. But the thing is, I HATE the thin tubes. They bend, and change color, and dig painfully into my ears. Plus I can't find the tubes mine has...

    Color hearing aids/molds

I have translucent hearing aids with clear molds, lol. Next time I'm getting glitter too! I wish i could get colors too! But alas, no... I do have a lime green ear gear on them right now though.

    ear mold shapes

They have custom molds that just go into the the canal, and ones that have a little onto the bottom for retention. Earpiece Guide | Westone <---- This site lists all the different kinds pretty well I think. Now I have a question for you. Lol. Do you think the sound quality improved from the...

    College Dorm ADA

It is an apartment building owned by my dorm. It is part of the university, and we pay one lump sum within our tuition, and everything is covered for the year. We pay no utilities at all.

What Ticks You Off (Most) About Hearies?

Or when people go, "That has nothing to do with my lips." or "You don't need me to do that.", like they OBVIOUSLY understand better than me, who's been hoh since I was little and they've had normal hearing their whole life. FOR SURE.

What Ticks You Off (Most) About Hearies?

Oh yes, I was raised oral. But I do know some signs. So I signed at him that he was an ass wipe and left the store. I was pretty pissed. And before that he was talking to me with his back to me, and when I asked him to turn around, he got all huffy. Jeesh I'm deaf, not a stupid two year old. :eek3:

    I don't like when P E O P L E T A L K L I K E T H I S. The slower you go, the harder you are to understand. And I like it even less when they look at me like I'm stupid when I tell them that.
