Jillio,
She is already classified and receiving services. The Special Education Teacher is trying to find additional ways that she can do some, for lack of a better word, additional drill and practice one day a week after school and also at home.
All of you at AD are becoming my go to people. We have a student at the school where I work who is extremely visually impaired. They are working with her to develop better keyboarding skills, but are having some problems finding resources. If anyone knows of a site or have any ideas or...
JClarke,
I have, but I can't seem to find anything that has a complete dialogue. Unless I am not looking in the right place.
Shell,
To be honest, after 40 plus years, there are still times that I struggle with expressive English.
Hahahahaha
:eek3: I am so glad that my instructor slows her signing down for us. There is no way that I could make heads or tails of a dialogue being signed as quickly as those vlogs. Oh well, I will just need to keep practicing. I certainly didn't learn to speak orally in two semesters time, I can't...
Thanks, it is part of one of the Vlogs I was watching.
I have to say, everyone on AD has been very helpful in regards to any help I have needed. You guys are great!
Thanks Shel. Plus I am going to the local Deaf Club St. Patty's Day party on Saturday, so the Vlogs will be good practice for that too. It's amazing how much more difficult developing receptive skills are than signing.
Glad to hear that Tigger is doing better. I don't know a lot about bipolar disorder, but glad to hear that you have that more under control too. Or at least manageable. It is people such as yourself that I wish more of the people I know could have the opportunity to meet, even if it is only...
Perhaps I was the only one who misunderstood. I didn't understand what exactly you were looking for until I saw Lavender's post and checked out the link.
Perhaps we have all misunderstood you, but in your original post you said, "If anyone knows a super fast way or if they could do it it would be amazing." That sounds like you are asking for people to do it for you.
.
Additionally, there is no super fast way or any magical website that will help...
That is exciting and also overwhelming all at once. My daughter, who is also an English Major, was just approved to sub at the district I also work for. She is nervous, especially about classroom management. I'll tell you the same thing I told her, you will do just fine. Sometimes it seems like...
No problem, I am heading to bed, but will check tomorrow. Thank you for all of your help. You can probably tell I am a newbie, I didn't even know which location to start the thread in. To be honest, the whole Deaf Culture is new to me. My original topic for my presentation was The Deaf and Legal...
Bottesini,
Can you provide me with some resources of Lane's opinions you posted above. I will be honest that I haven't read "The Mask of Benevolence" or "When the Mind Hears" from cover to cover, but then as he is the author of both, I doubt I will find anything negative regarding his positions.
Based on my research, I think there was a sense of pride in culture within the Deaf prior to the founding of Gallaudet University, particularly in Europe. Some of the information, or at least jumping off stages for my research came from the following link.

Thank you for your help, and I thought I was pretty much done researching. I wish I could post my presentation for comments, but it exceeds the limit for attachments.
