Do we have a challenge ahead of us to avoid becoming Hearing?

There really isn't a Latinized version of hebrew, but rather many names were converted. For example one of the Disciples Paul comes from "Shaul", Jesus from "Jehoshuah" and so forth, the Prophets books Kings 1 and 2, are very short in hebrew, however in greek, they took up two books.

similarly the sign for Dutch, is making a pointed shape with both hands on your head, also a bonnet reference, something dutch haven't worn for past 200 years.

every single one of your distortions of what I said, are called out by GrendelQ quite clearly, I will post it a 2nd time, or the third time it's being posted now, when it says him, it is referring to shushugah. I will argue with anyone of any age, particularly when I am clearly not alone...

Do we have a challenge ahead of us to avoid becoming Hearing?

You are saying my view does not matter, can I interpret this some other way?

Do we have a challenge ahead of us to avoid becoming Hearing?

I said I will not partake in name calling or insulting. I never indicated that I'd step out of the debate either. I invalidated the the title of the this thread as well as the first 30 pages (minus the irrelevant jargon) that explicated the "hearing take over the deaf". THAT is insulting and...

Do we have a challenge ahead of us to avoid becoming Hearing?

I am certainly suffering here, of all ironies where many posters here, seem to have difficult time accepting me. But since the hearies are the discriminators here (it seems Jilio is one of them, based on her outlandish treatment of me, post after post), I will keep my mouth shut, since I bask in...

Do we have a challenge ahead of us to avoid becoming Hearing?

You have yet to respond to ANY of these points, so please respond to them now, I am seriously interested in your response to these points, because you claim to be educating me, but I still don't quite understand what. You claim you are not bashing me, yet you told me my view is insignificant...

Do we have a challenge ahead of us to avoid becoming Hearing?

I could be wrong, but from many of these posters it seems a large majority of people here, with CI's were oppressed and I don't deny their plights. I only hope to bring in perspective, that I can be a CI user and not a victim of a sick audist world. I hope to show that, there DO exist people who...

Do we have a challenge ahead of us to avoid becoming Hearing?

If you really want to assert your claim is childish, perhaps address any of the points she made, defending me in what was a flame attack for no reason. I honestly fail to see how I even suggested nullifying other people's opinions here, and yet you tell me my opinion is insignificant...

Do we have a challenge ahead of us to avoid becoming Hearing?

Do you know anything about this organization? You provided a plausible counter argument, which is rather impressive, except for one thing, that it's just plain not true and unfound. Rather than bashing me every step you can, since I will even agree with you if I agree with you, and disagree with...

Do we have a challenge ahead of us to avoid becoming Hearing?

Couldn't have said it better myself, it's just said that my opinion doesn't count since I am not in full agreement with the general consensus on this forum. I come here as a representative of the other side of the story in regards to cochlear implants, because I understand many people here...

Do we have a challenge ahead of us to avoid becoming Hearing?

I actually do know Deaf history, I learned some ASL AFTER I learned oral speak, and like it or not, I do want to be part of the Deaf community. That is why I am spending time learning ASL now, and time on this forum, despite the way some people here treat me, which is just a little...

Do we have a challenge ahead of us to avoid becoming Hearing?

I can only speak for my parents, not yours or most others really, I don't think people like GrendelQ are going to dump their daughter or treat them negatively once they enter the "real world". If anything, I think she will be more supportive than most parents.

I will agree that most jews are not 100% ethnic jews, as most jews intermarried thus looking like the people of their respective nations that they live in, (i.e. Ethiopian jews have black skin, and Italian jews have olive colored skin and so on). You can argue that anyone can be jewish...

Do we have a challenge ahead of us to avoid becoming Hearing?

Errr, my parents are anything but like that. I will agree such views are very shrewd and narrow minded, however they are not the popular opinion either. My parents are absolutely not ashamed of me, I don't understand where this view of disability equates shame and embarrassment. The jewish...

Do we have a challenge ahead of us to avoid becoming Hearing?

There have been cases of oppression as highlighted by personal experiences of previous posters here, however I would not call this oppression. A kid who has weak muscles and takes therapy to be stronger, despite the pain and sweat, is beneficial not harmful. I am completely cool with you not...

Do we have a challenge ahead of us to avoid becoming Hearing?

Yes, I am only 17 years old, I imagine things are much more different now? 20 years after the 70's. I don't think the atrocities you went through, happen really nowadays.

I real hear you, I do not in any way want to invalidate the oppression you went through. It is a shame, and your parents should perhaps have stopped after you made it really clear that you hated the process. Overal I think most oral deafies are happy, but again I feel the topic of this article...
