Phonak unveils 2 new hearing aids

I think I am getting these "growing pains". I still am not 100% sure what the transpositional sounds are really supposed to sound like....any way to describe it? Not sure what sounds will make the area of the sound transposition.

Phonak unveils 2 new hearing aids

In a way, now I see why some hearing aid battery retailers (ie. Walmart, Sam's Club) are weaning out the 675 size batteries required by the Naida UP aids. There's not enough volume to support it.....darn!!

    re-visiting Naida V UP: a newbie

Oh, how I wish to have my own computer set up to configure my own aids. (I'll have faster results with the experimenting with the settings) I might have said it before in the past, the combination of the Phonak iCube wireless hardware and the Phonak proprietary iPFG 2.0 software will set you...

    re-visiting Naida V UP: a newbie

If you decide after all the trial and errors with the Naidas the helium effects are annoying, you can still shut off the transposition effects....I'm trying to see if I can have all the bells and whistles to work for me, but hopefully my brain can correspond w/o running away....

    re-visiting Naida V UP: a newbie

I am currently getting my Naida V UPs adjusted. I seem to currently have what you have (helium addicts, ha!), with low pitch sounds distorted, due to an experiment trying to remove unwanted background sounds. (BTW, hearing loss is ski slope from 90-110 dB in both ears) I have one FM receiver...

    hoh and job problem

Are you dealing with a Audiologist? Have you already had an audiogram done? Have you asked you audi if you can have a loaner aid while waiting for approval from your financial aid agency? Sorry, didn't read through the comments before I posted.....I see you're having some good resolutions...

    hearing aid update...

I'm glad to see you "found" a new way of hearing things in your class (lipreading the terp). I for one, just completed my college studies after 5 years, in which I found out I needed more help after 2 years of so-so notetaking help. I ended up having 2 oral interpreters assigned to each of my...

    next friday! new aids?

Awesome!! I have never heard of Hearing Aids being given for college use, but anything is possible. You are entitled to a "fair and square" college education and also equal opportunity in a job. What ever it takes to make you even to your peers, that's what it's going to take, hearing aids...

    next friday! new aids?

You do not have to fake anything in college, it's not the same as high school...I know.....most college students are adults about this, and if there are some that is not, they will grow up real quick!! I think it's probably because you seem to indirectly shy away from talking to people because...

    next friday! new aids?

I've had a professor in class do the same thing.......but since it was a college, most of the students and actually the professor was still helpful. I usually joke a lot, so sometimes when I do have some of those little oversights like "did you understand me??" in class, sometimes I play a...

    Phonak Naida V UP

I'm glad you got some Phonak help!! Sometimes that needs to be done, as the audiologists are too busy these days to make the time to learn the new software and the aids that it tweaks. I hope mine is getting better in her homework. :) Well, to be honest with you, I'm still in the...

    Phonak Naida V UP

Hmmmm.....I never had noticed that there was an issue with the Rayovac batteries...I liked these batteries because of the copper/gold end..they seem to conduct power better.....and last a bit longer. I have tried others with similar results, such as Everready and the generic Walgreen brand...

    Phonak Naida V UP

But.....what about the Naida aids? If you are not using them any more, are you able to return them for something else?

    Phonak Naida V UP

I'm going to give you a heads up regarding the Naidas.....it's not always going to work "out of the box" 1. The compression factor is causing the "underwater" sound you are experiencing. Your audiologist will have to play with the adjustments to make it better. If the audiologist has not...

Phonak Exelias (Any with experience with this HA?)

It depends on the user, but Stereo is one plus. The other plus is the more advanced Bluetooth (2.0 version). Smartlink SX is version 1.1 http://www.phonak.com/com_datasheet_smartlink_sx.pdf The problem is, if FM is used, the stereo turns to mono.....I really don't know too much more about...

    Phonak iCom / Smartlink questions

I just had the privilege to have a test drive of the iCom today at my audiologist's office. The iCom in itself does connect in stereo, and the sound is very clear. I trialed with both music and phone communications. Regarding the FM connection to the iCom, I was not able to test drive that...
