    Poor aided results above 500Hz

Phonak has downloadeable software you can use for evaluation and checking out the media player function, but you need a HiPro device or iCube to connect the aids to the software. Here's the download link: Phonak hearing systems - Software Download Good Luck!!

    Phonak Naida V

I do know about transpositional but I suspect it's been turned off. Is there a way for me to turn it on so I can see what it's like? The Phonak iPFG software has the Insight program that can be used to run a realtime simulated mode of Soundrecover and other modes you want to test. This way...

Can't wait for these technologie's to advance

I'm not sure what software they use for the captioning, but if you use Dragon naturally speaking, you still have to have some sort of voice training for each voice. Since there are so many different accents as well as languages, it's best to have a captionist that has a voice tag well trained...

Can't wait for these technologie's to advance

You're partially correct....they use a captionist that lip syncs what a person says to a voice recognition-enabled computer trained to the captionists voice. the computer in turn transmits the words to the screen of the Captel phone. If there's a spelling/grammar mistake, then the captionist...

Can't wait for these technologie's to advance

Calls usually are 24 hours/seven days a week. The Captel phone can have up to a 4 second lapse in transmission due to data constraints and voice recognition/correction of errors. Webcaotel has a little bit longer in data transfer because of the Internet transmission, but is a free service...

Can't wait for these technologie's to advance

Go for it!! It's been a while since I used my Dragon software, as I was getting used to having a Captel captionist transcribe my conversations on the phone. The biggest issue with this is the privacy issue, though the captionists are sworn to be impartial to all conversations and transcribe...

    T-Mobile G1

Beware of the battery issue....I have heard from others and I have someone that has her battery life draining so fast she has to charge the battery daily if not more.....Tmobile is supposedly upgrading the battery to a better quality..... New Extended Life Batteries for T-Mobile G1 Users?

    Phonak Naida

Good luck with the trial...I went against the Contego because I needed more mobility and the Contego was just too much baggage to carry. Furthermore, it didn't have bluetooth, which meant I needed to buy the iCom.....so 2 items hanging from my neck is overkill.......

    Phonak Naida

I think there is also the capability for the Naida aids to have directional microphone capability...but the background noises is a delicate situation that probably requires the FM equipment to help reduce. I would try your best to get your audi to adjust the speech in noise level to where you...

    Phonak Naida

yes...correct..... for FM only, I use it in either on-on one speech situations or music on the computer or iPod. The FM with mic is used in bigger rooms when the speaker id farther away, then you put the FM transmitter near the speaker. You will also have the microphones activated on your...

    Phonak Naida

It does sound like what I had to go through. The BassBoost was increased too much and needs to be dropped a setting. The music setting might have been removed from the manual settings. Since you have 4 manuals plus one automatic setting, I think you might want to have them add music to one of...

    Phonak Naida

Your audiologist may have "maxed" out the BassBoost setting on your Naidas. I would have him/her drop it a notch and see if this helps with the deep voices. I had the same issue with maxed out Bassboost...I cried that the background noises were too much, so the Phonak rep removed all BassBoost...

    Phonak Naida

Through the State disabled access agency if you live in the United States. I live in Texas, so I was able to get help from the state DARS agency which I qualified for a 75% reduction in total cost of the aids and equipment. If you are overseas, then I guess eBay and other Internet companies...

    re-visiting Naida V UP: a newbie

At times I like them....and other times I'm wishing for better. The biggest problem is...what is better? The biggest obstacle is the configuration part. Most of the time it's not ready to go "out of the box". I've had the aids adjusted about 7 times, 5 with Phonak rep help. About 3 of...

Looking for best hearing aide compatable telephone headset

I'm sure if you have a in-the-ear aid, there will be some bluetooth earsets that will work (without the in the ear mold), but since I have a BTE aid, I have no use for this. The best thing for me was the FM/bluetooth device....but that costs a pretty penny.....$1500-2000 for both transmitter...

Looking for best hearing aide compatable telephone headset

I use a combination FM transmitter/receiver/bluetooth combo (Smartlink SX and Phonak ML10i receivers) to have a good connection. The bad news with using FM is the expense involved....here's some links: http://www.phonak.com/consumer/products/fm/smartlink.htm...
