This is true.... buuttt... it's not really a good thing. In my opinion, I think it's the internet convenience that has made it hard to socially interact with people face to face. You can't actually see the person (unless you're using P3, Skype..etc.) and makes it hard to understand the emotions...

Noooo.... I'm still a novice. There is so much to the ASL and I've barely scratched the surface. I do comprehend a little more than what other ASL 1 students may understand, only because I was exposed to English signing first.

I know in our area, the classes require you to go to a limited amount of socials, yes. I myself keep going even though it isn't required any longer, I have met some nice peoples and enjoy the deaf community more than hearing ones.. :)
