    Hearing Adult Foster HOH Children.

'ello and welcome to AllDeaf. I have classmates that are pretty persistent and drive over an hour to college, I don't think 30 minutes isn't too bad. I don't want to sound harsh, but if it's important enough (which I believe it is), making the effort to learn means a lot to the deaf/HoH...

hearing, might be headed toward hoh, learning ASL

Hello and :welcome: to AllDeaf I agree with Jillio. Immersing yourself with ASL is the best way to learn it. I am an ASL student and I try to surround myself with signers as much as possible, or maybe get tutoring if you can. Hope you enjoy the reads.

    !!Hello!!

Hello and welcome. :) I too have been in a relationship with a Deaf man, not the same experience as you I know, but something in common. It has helped me choose my path for my future. Why? Even through the biggest challenges I shine through and in the end I have the greatest reward, this is...

All in my head - no, really

Yea, that's why I was curious and questioned it, because it sounded like Audism from the sentence. :dunno2: But he said it's Autism.

    Hi!

Hello and welcome! :) I think it's awesome for the babies to learn ASL, if I ever have children I would do the same. It helps the childs' learning process, plus I think they're so adorable when signing. If you haven't already, maybe check out Signing Time for the little ones. And there is a...

Hello and welcome :) Interesting intro.... Curious... is it suppose to be Autism or Audism? I know it seems like a DUH question, but I just want to be clear. Autism is a disorder of neural development characterized by impaired social interaction and communication, and by...

    Perspective

I think that leads mainly to doctors way of thinking. And if a plain jane person is informed of HA or CIs in a manner of "correcting" the hearing loss, then they are misinformed and sadly very naive.

    Perspective

This I understand. Many times the communication is limited with a hearing person. So it is of course important for the deaf or HoH individual to know how to read/write. Sometimes isn't always properly educated though, and still there are troubles.
