I dunno if this is a practical suggestion - but I have a Hearing Ear Dog and he alerts me to just about everything! A squirrel can't run up a tree across the street without him letting me know :hmm: but I feel safer with him cause he is trained for most household sounds. Plus he is relaly cute!

Dixie - for the phone I use an amplified Clearsounds phone for HoH - and a Walker 10 amplifier which attachs between the handset and the phone. It's pretty good - though the quality of sound is dreadful - tinny and distorted - and I get feedback - even though I am using my T-Switch. But it is...

Oh, Farmerjoe - I can only get away with passing for hearing for about 10 minutes. By that time - if I am 'faking it' - I am so lost in the conversation that I have to start asking for repeats - and then I just fake it half the time instead of all the time. :roll: I hate being so irritating...

I think this is very well put. As for re-naming - I dunno - how bout Friends of Dorothy? The only issue I see coming up with using 'GLBT' is that, as different smaller communities within the GLBT community emerge - they will want their initial included and that will lead to yet another...
