EVIDENCE of being deaf with Hearing Aid device

Actually, Greema has been helpful to me and offered info in PM too. I didn't think this board was all about arguing, isn't it also about helping people and giving information? Not everyone wants to argue, and there is nothing wrong with giving input and posting that you agree without someone else.

    Feedback from hearing aids

You are right.. the first day I was very stressed. I have to admit when she went to bed, I needed a glass of wine! I am better now, I just didn't expect them to make so much noise! She does have very powerful aids, so I think I just have to deal with it. Thanks

    Feedback from hearing aids

Unfortunetly I can't control the volume, because of the degree of her loss the volume is turned all the way up, and it has to stay that way. One of her molds is loose, so I waiting for the new one to come in. That one just keeps falling off, so half the time I turn it off because it's out of her...

    Feedback from hearing aids

From what I heard, it's great for my daughter that has her hearing aids so early. Hopefully she can get some of the sounds. I hope she is not bothered by it. But like you said if nothing else, it is stimulating the nerves, so her brain is taking some of it in, even though she may not respond...

    Feedback from hearing aids

Today my daughter got her hearing aids. She is only 4 months so she does not hold her head up, so sitting in her seat or swing you hear feedback when her head gets too close to the seat. Also when she is on my shoulder I notice it. How annoying is that going to be for her?? I am not sure if she...

Implants help child emerge from silent world

This is exactly how I feel. I have had no previous experience with anyone who was deaf and now I have a 4 month old daughter who is deaf (severe to profound hearing loss). I am doing everything I can to help her. That is why I joined this forum to learn as much as I can from everyone. I would...

    Wanted: Diet Buddies

This weekend my diet went out the window too, I had 3 parties to go to. Eating out 3 days in a row was so bad for me. My daughter is almost 4 months old and I still need to get rid of baby weight. I want fast results, and unfortunetly nothing works fast. I get so upset with myself, but then my...

Parents' Opinion On Hearing Aids & CI

You are right, I am definelty going to keep an open mind. I am trying to take one day at a time and not worry too much about the future. I make myself nuts thinking about when she turns 1, 2 and so on. I need to worry about her now and get her the best help now. I am going to be taking her to...

Parents' Opinion On Hearing Aids & CI

My daughter is 3 months old and hopefully getting the hearing aids next week. We will see how she does with them. If within the next few months we find the hearing aids are not helping, then we are going to look into the implant when she turns 1. I don't want to wait too long because we don't...

I'm new... mom of deaf baby girl

I think the plan is to focus more on speech therapy with her. Since we are all hearing in the family, I definetly want her to talk. I want that to be the primary communication if she can. I figure sign language can be a good backup just in case she doesn't do well. They think she might not be a...
