Lisa, that is wonderful! I am so happy for you as I know how important music is to you. Awesome!! (even if it is only six electrodes :) )

    Opinions about hearing aids

If I remember correctly, open fit will only work for some people. The normal dome shaped insert usually allows outside sound to enter the ear canal as well as sound from the ha. My first ha had open fit, when my hearing loss was at mild to moderate. Once it progressed to severe I had a cone...

How many hours a day do u wear ur hearing aids for?

I wore mine during waking hours until I got my CI. Now? rarely as it does little good. My CI is on from the time I get up, or at least leave the house for work, till I go to bed at night. Unless the hubby has a loud show on his TV, then I will often turn off the CI and just rely on CC...

    CI processor adhesive?

Thanks everyone for your quick responses. Gives me something to think about. Who would have thought a simple trick like turning the earhook a bit would help? But it does, Thanks LadySekhmet! Not perfect, but much better.

    CI processor adhesive?

I guess some processors have a tighter fit than others. My first one was hard to get apart, this second one is easy, but it does not come apart without me wanting it to. Something to have checked out though for sure, Charlotte.

    CI processor adhesive?

Thanks. I have seen all those items. The first doesn't apply, the second I have and there are only two sizes-small and large and my ear is in the middle, sigh. As for the third, not sure if that would work or not since they don't show a picture of it being used. It does sound possible though...

    flipside Q about the CI!

I just read that in my instruction manual. All my surgeon said was a low powered MRI was okay. Didn't mean to sound like I was attacking or arguing, still new to this and was just making sure it was the same problem my audi had told me about or something new.

    CI processor adhesive?

Is there such a thing? Mine shifts and I am constantly readjusting it. It also tends to stick out at the bottom. If there was such a thing as double sided sticky tape, I would have fewer problems and also wouldn't have to worry about it falling off.

    flipside Q about the CI!

I know that with nucleus they can use a lower powered MRI, and I think some of the other brands have that option as well. Does that hold true for AB? As for the magnet/skin issue, isn't that if the magnet is too powerful? My audi told me that if the magnet was too strong there could be a loss of...

    High Frequencies and Dizziness

I am glad things are sorted out for now Lisa. Bummer about the music, but hopefully that is just temporary and things will return to normal in the near future. At least you have no more dizzy spells. Having had them with my meniere's, I know they can be scary.

    flipside Q about the CI!

Cons? you are right, there aren't many of them though we all seem to have a love/hate relationship with our CI's from time to time. My cons? Since the processor is larger than a ha, it sometimes feels awkward and heavy. I had to learn to be careful where I leaned my head (leaned against a...

    High Frequencies and Dizziness

It can get tricky when you have several prescriptions to juggle. I hope there is an alternative that is safe for you to use. You are very welcome. I use them both, as needed and they do help me a great deal. I, too, have allergies/sinus trouble. My sinuses drain constantly all year round and...

    High Frequencies and Dizziness

Just a thought, but you might want to stick with dayquil since you have prescription sleep aid? Or at least check with the doctor. If the congestion moves to your chest, I would recommend Mucinex, and you can get that over the counter or, Mucinex DM, still otc but you have to sign for it. That...

    High Frequencies and Dizziness

Hearing you have a cold, it all makes sense. Glad you have that part figured out. Now if they can find a way for you to cope better while you have that cold, now that will be progress. In the meantime, glad you figured out a way on your own to calm things down a bit.

    High Frequencies and Dizziness

Please do. We worry about you when you aren't feeling right. Hopefully by then you will have had a chance to see your surgeon as well to round off the input on what is going on.
