Once it comes out of your dog put it in dry and store and then see if it still works. If the aid is not real old it may be covered under the manufacturers warranty. I have resound azures and they are covered for damage, lost, etc, for I think 3 yrs.
I don't really know what hard of hearing really means. My attitude is that my hearing is impaired since it's not normal. It doesn't mean I am impaired although I certainly am when my back is turned from something and I don't hear it. When people ask if I am hard of hearing, hearing impaired...
The thing about cochlear implants other then the fact as a result of the surgery you are now permanently deaf is the fact that for a lot of people it can take months to adjust to them. Constant changing of programs in order to hear makes me wonder what people do about their jobs as they are...
As CJB stated, the numbers are just that, numbers, and can only give a person guidelines, and do not give real life situations. When my speech comprehension is tested the volume is jacked up loud enough so it doesn't cause pain and my tests scores are around 46%. But this in no way can be used...

The naidas are probably more advanced, and Phonak has all these accessories that you can use with the naida's, but you might not like the way they sound. But you should give them a try.

Take your time, don't rush. Try different brands if you can. Wear them for a couple of weeks to see how you like them. Remember 4 or 5 visits for adjustments is not unusual for digital aids. That's the beauty of them, they can be adjusted many different ways. If you liked resound try the...
