    Your favorite body part?

Now that this thread has gone COMPLETELY off topic. I don't think I can really say I have a favorite. I have always been extremely fond of my long brown hair, my golden-brown eyes that turn green when I cry and my smile that people say can light up even the darkest room. My friends say my...

    Lexicalized Fingerspelling

I never thought about that, I thought just about every word had a sign and the use of the manual alphabet was for Names of people, places, streets, and the like; or as a means of spelling the word of an unknown sign... Thank you guys, now I can really take to heart that my teacher is really...

    Lexicalized Fingerspelling

Okay that makes more sense. We just have drills on random words that I suppose could be used for emphasis but I don't understand why in ASL 2? In a fingerspelling class oh yes! go for the lexicalization. But don't you think teaching us things like classifiers, facial expressions, and...

    Analytic thinker

Sorry, I started writing and toward the end I realized it's kinda a rant...:giggle: I didn't know how strongly I felt about this. I know many hearing parents that are terrified of having deaf children, they wouldn't know how to communicate with them and would be too lazy or selfish (in most...

    Lexicalized Fingerspelling

My ASL teacher is all about making sure we know 3 things: Facial/Mouth Expressions, Classifiers, and Lexicalized Fingerspelling. I just want to know how many of you use this method other than for names and such but for words that have signs. For example: TOY, YES, SORRY, BUG, HURT

What are the color of your eyes?

My eyes are typically a honey-brown color. When I cry they become more greenish brown. And after swimming or bathing they turn greenish-light brown with little blue specs

    What did you learn today?

True story. The End! I discovered that about last week sometime. My friend used to use it and it is really quite good! :hmm: I also learned that a study group or ASL is a wonderful idea! My study group of 4 are the ones that really are understanding the material and always get A's or...

What is your natural hair color?

In a normal room lighting my hair is medium brown. But with brighter light like sunlight it becomes an array of approxmately 85% brown, 12% red and 3% blond. It is very fascinating and it all gets even lighter more of a reddish brown during the summer. :D

    AllyBallyBabe

Oh my gosh! I love watching her videos, I have decided that is one of the more interactive way to show hearing people what a wonderful language this is. It is really convenient when she writes the ASL GLOSS, that's how my boyfriend learns the signs and it helps him to understand how the...
