    Deaf/HOH and PTSD

I was thinking a wearable proximity sensor would help those with both deafness and PTSD (or just one condition.) I looked around on Google, and there's some such, but there aren't any actual products that I could find. There are hackable solutions, using such devices as Arduino and Raspberry...

There are things you need to experience at least once...

As a former Braves fan (I don't watch baseball anymore), I say booooooo! In all seriousness, I wish MLB would accept Pete Rose back. Sure, he made a huge mistake, but it's time to forgive and move on. The guy, before he made that mistake, was a huge baseball legend. Fine, don't induct him...

    Deaf, hearing relationships

Yeah, deaf, blind, hearing, it doesn't matter, people are all going to be different. There's so many factors that make us who we are, not even going into the whole genetics thing.

What are you thinking about Part VII

Woops, looks like I started up a storm. :( I should clarify what I mean. She mentioned about putting everything on my list in as a smoothie. I said I fixed it (by changing everything to anything) because I was being silly in pointing out that you can put ANYTHING into a blender and make a...

What are you thinking about Part VII

Yes, but there's also celery, onions, beets, lettuce, and all the other veggies in V8 juice.

How did you Sleep last night?

I've been the same way. The only thing that worked well enough for me is melatonin; well, actually that or a lot of alcohol, which never fails. Melatonin sometimes help put me to sleep and the best part is that you don't wake up with that hangover you'd get from a regular sleeping pill...

There are things you need to experience at least once...

The wind noise is painful enough in a car with the window down while wearing aids. I can't imagine how bad it'd be while sky diving. :eek3:

    Chest freezer?

Depends; do you need a lot of storage space to freeze items? If it's not a big need, you can try to make room in your current freezer by eating them up or throwing stuff away. If you need a lot of storage space, you can make sure to get an Energy Star-compliant chest freezer. There might...

What are you thinking about Part VII

We'd be in a serious conundrum. I suppose I could drink a lot of bloody mary's.

There are things you need to experience at least once...

Going out to L.A. and seeing the Pacific Ocean, the Santa Monica pier, driving the Pacific coast highway and Beverly Hills. I was flown out there for E3 to cover gaming events and had a blast. The weather out there is absolutely perfect. No humidity! Unlike Florida which is a perpetual hothouse.

    How are you feeling today?....

Noooooooooo! I'm never going into the ocean again! :pissed: That reminds me of an old whale joke, but it's a little risque and adult in nature, so I'll just link it instead of posting it here: Two Whales Joke - Animal Jokes

    Saying Hi and About Me

It's a fun hobby that I taught myself that turned into a job at some point. The nice thing about is that it doesn't require as much face-to-face or phone conversations to do.

Passersby Struck by Car Amid Comic-Con Zombie Walk

Pretty much. I can understand them mentioning it if the accident was caused by whoever was driving didn't hear something. It had nothing to do with hearing, but about the antics of an out-of-control gathering of people who clearly forgot that cars are big, heavy, and fast, and had no business...

What are you thinking about Part VII

I had a blood test taken and the doc yesterday advised me to eat more fruits. At the store this morning, I picked up a large variety of fruits for my diet: Fruity Pebbles cereal Mike's Hard Lemonade Key Lime Pie Blueberry Cheesecake Cherry Garcia ice cream from Ben & Jerry's Strawberry milk...

    Feeling left out

Yeah, I think we all go through this. I attribute it to people just being uncomfortable with a situation they are unfamiliar with. Most of them get antsy and nervous around people with disabilities or impediments because they wonder if they're being polite enough or respectful enough. One way...

Best Deaf Cell Phones? Samsung Galaxy Note II is one!

If you're not doing too much calling, it might be cheaper to go with a pre-paid plan. The only problem with that is that you either have to use your current phone(s) or buy one off-contract. The dumbphones are real cheap for pre-paid, but if you want a smartphone, the Motorola Moto E at $120...

    Saying Hi and About Me

It's about the same as it is today, classified as severe-to-profound hearing loss. With most of the high frequencies being in the profound range. I do wonder how much of my life would've changed if I had experience with a deaf/blind community.
