I have a Vizio HDTV and I hooked up my HD cable box (comcast) through DVI to HDMI - the closed captions work. I also hooked up my upconverting DVD player (Phillips) using HDMI cables - the cc didn't work but I switched cables from HDMI to Compenent and the cc showed up.

My boyfriend says I make a "mmmmmmmmmm" noise whenever I'm reading or concentrating on something. I don't even feel it at all and he says he can hear it pretty loud (he's HOH). Sometimes I wonder if I make that "mmmmmmmmmmm" noise when I'm working... no one else has told me that they can hear me.

Ahh... so basically there's nothing I can do. I guess I'll stick with my dvd player and watch movies using subtitles. I can live with that but if I can't, I can always use one of the other tvs. Thanks for your reply!
