Anybody with a Freedom not using their Personal Audio Cable,

There are two versions of the cable one at $130 and the other at $180. The one at $180 has surge protection filter for AC power equipment so that a malfunction of the equipment will not pass AC voltage to the CI processor. The cheaper version does not have the filter and intended for battery...

    Single electrode or multiple electrode?

This is quite noisy video and it is spoken in the native language of the user. It seems that they are using something like two syllable words not like one syllable words like coat, boat, goat for example. I do not know if the user is using any residual hearing during the test. The early...

    Single electrode or multiple electrode?

They stated that there is electrodes on the short array but have not hear about the number. They say that the short and thin array will help to preserve residual hearing but since they are using the ear canal as the path to implant the device I wonder what is going to happen with the ear drum...

    Ies

This is from a company called MST in South Korea. They are implanting these in India. It involves a simpler surgical approach and a short insertion electrode. It is hard to say how well it works for the user. I do not believe it has FDA approval for use in US.

    Between the following 3 cochlears...

Same here I was for AB since the marketing pitch was saying better for music than the other brands. I listen to music and go to concerts quite a bit. The reason I switch back to Cochlear was the better chance for a full insertion for the array since my cochlea was not full size. Now, I do not...

    Between the following 3 cochlears...

Generally you want the C levels to be as comfortable loud as possible. You really do not want any sounds to be uncomfortable loud since it can defeat the purpose of having more dynamic range and there is a limit on how much electric current that the nerve can handle. I can control the dynamic...

    Rion Waterproof HAs

The 54's are the most waterproof model of Rion. Even so I would not use them for swimming but for outdoor sports or outside jobs expose to the weather. The most powerful Rion are the 79's which I had a pair and it is what I would call sweat proof.

What would happen to CI if the company went out of business?

No, you can not switch the make of the external processor with a different manufacture since the technology used are quite different. You can upgrade the processor to work with the older internal model.
