    Another recall for AB

From what I can tell this is a recent development that happens 8 to 10 days after activation so you can not really compare it to the total AB population. It does not appear to affect users that had working implants for a time. I have not heard how big this issue is since it is just two users...

    Second implant

ACE is Cochlear coding strategy somewhat like the AB HiRes-S coding strategy. ACE combines both the spectral resolution of SPEAK coding and the temporal cues of CIS coding. The N5 also has smart sounds which is different sound processing programs. I know of one person still using SPEAK coding...

    Second implant

I upgrade to the N5 from Freedom in February. I just had a remap three weeks ago and the sound quality is very impressive. My new maps also increase my ability to understand my hearing friends in a crowd even when they had a hard time hearing me. I use the ACE processing not sure about your...

    Wow! AB's Harmony vs. Cochlear's Nucleus 5!

I think that there is allot of confusion over IDR (input Dynamic Range) as compare to the current output dynamic range that is controlled by the maps to the array. It is not unusual for people have smaller output Dynamic range than the IDR and the sound then would have to be compress to fit for...

My new film about my Broken Cochlear BP100

I believe that your trifield meter behavior is normal. Since your meter is using an analog display the coil that is attached to the needle is being affected by the strong magnetic field that is being produced by your BP100 in order to vibrate the metal post that is bone attached. If you are...

    Cochlear implants parts cost outrages?

Another thing you can check to see if there is a annual cap on the DME coverage as well. Since I do not feel as conformable dealing with insurance Help Desk on the phone. I went to the company patient advocate face to face to get the exact details on my insurance policy.

    Cochlear implants parts cost outrages?

The key part is that your insurance have DME (durable Medical Equipment) rider on the policy. Not all insurance have DME coverage. My DME coverage covers repairs when the processor is out of warranty. Batteries and supplies are covered with a 10% co-pay.

NoizFree not compatible with Phonak Naida V ?

The Phonak Icom costs more and does not deliver stereo to the binaural since it uses a neck loop to deliver the sounds to the aids. I personal use a induction plate for each of my aids connected to my Sony Walkman and gives true stereo sound. Still the NoizFree MusicLink should work for you.

I think Cochlear Brand people are nicer than AB people.

No knows for sure how long the internal implant part will last or what the future will hold. To say that most people will have to be explanted and re-implanted at least once in their life is a guess and it is not a heathy statement.
