A rep from SVR stopped by the house today.

Maybe Sorenson's learning to request appointments instead of doing unannounced visits. That's a good thing!

That's great! Hope you are enjoying the Ojo like I am.

Help with Router and VP 100

I did have problems with a Belkin "G" router in the past in which it would not allow incoming video. However, I think if you place the VP-100 into the DMZ portion of your Belkin MIMO router, it should be fine. I concur with dbarovian's advice to contact Sorenson tech support to ensure any...

Here's a wikipedia article (highly technical) explaining STUN. In a nutshell, it's a networking method by which a device (like the Ojo) can find out information about a router so that it will allow a service (like SnapVRS) to be able to connect effectively.

    Anyone get SnapVRS?

I had a similar problem with the STUN server on my OJO. After changing it to the "PASSIVE" setting, it resolved all problems, so I suggest you change your setting to that and see if it works for you. I have a VP-200 which I think is a great VP as far as hardware goes. ALL of my Deaf friends...

    Anyone get SnapVRS?

Keep in mind that the PVP-900 model OJO (Black) does not have ANY kind of phone port whatsoever. There's nothing to kill with electricity. The only things you can plug into the OJO is the power cord and an RJ-45 ethernet jack from your router. The only thing that will work for now is a...

Your employer let you use VRS at work?

You are very fortunate to have the kind of support from your private employer to get you VRS. This is unfortunately the exception rather than the rule. When I first requested VRS access at work in June 2005, my employer would not discuss VRS, and instead insisted on us Deafies in the Navy to...

    Anyone get SnapVRS?

Nope, that won't work. It's gotta be something like this: Here's more information on this audio-based signaller: USS 360 Universal Sound Signaler

    Anyone get SnapVRS?

Remember, the OJO does not have a telephone port for you to plug in a phone flasher device. You'll have to get one that detects the audio ring of the OJO (rather than the normal ring voltage signal on a phone line).

    Anyone get SnapVRS?

I have a VP200 too and think it's a great videophone designed for Deaf users. I noticed the same thing too. However, I think the problem is that the VP200 video processor is better quality than the older VP100 video processor. You can solve your TV dilemma by doing one of several...

    Anyone get SnapVRS?

The problem with the zip code function at the Sorenson website is that it doesn't accurately reflect Sorenson's readiness/intent to distribute VP-200s. I have the VP-200, and my deaf friends in my area all still have VP-100s and they got them before I got my VP-100. The truth is that Sorenson...

    Anyone get SnapVRS?

Right now, I have an Ojo and VP-200 working on the same network. There are two problems I've noticed with the Ojo: 1) No way to hook it (PVP-900 model (black)) up to my home alert signalling system since there's no RJ-11 jack like there is on a VP-200 (the PVP-1000 (silver one) DOES have an...

    where to get VP?

If you use ASL, you'll be considered by the various VRS companies for a videophone. Here's a link to a list of them that you can click through to find out how to apply for their equipment: VRS Companies

Where and who do you work for? You're a teacher, right?

Your employer let you use VRS at work?

Considering the normal mischeviousness of college-age students and hormone levels in college males, this scenerio does not surprise me at all! The funny thing is its an entirely different kind of security issue than the normal network security excuses that employers like to blurt out.

Your employer let you use VRS at work?

What is your former work (employer)? As some of you know, I'm a Federal employee and have had the same problems convincing my agency to allow VRS. I am learning that Sprint, which is the contractor for the Federal Video Relay Service, is working with their subcontractor for VRS to set up a...

*bump* Anyone care to share about either having VRS or being deined VRS at their work place?

    Anyone get SnapVRS?

No problem at all. Best way to explain is to make a comparison. For example, remember how computers in the past (or old computers today) have parallel ports for printers? If you had USB printer, you couldn't plug in your printer into a computer that has no USB ports. Also true is if you had...

    Anyone get SnapVRS?

I know a dash can be put into the field because I did that on my OJO, but since Im at work, I cannot re-check my system to remind myself how it's done. I'll try to remember to do it tonight and get back to you via alldeaf.com.

    Anyone get SnapVRS?

To call from an OJO to a VP-100, for example, you are required to use the VP-100 owner's IP address or a DNS name if that person created one. However, to call from an OJO to an OJO, you can dial the assigned phone number to that OJO, identically like calling from a VP-100/200 to a VP-100/200.
