    Table scraps......

We've always trained our dogs to lie down and stay put when we are eating. No begging allowed. With Mika, she has digestive issues and is on special dog food, fish & sweet potato, so no people food for her. Could cost us a couple thousand dollars in vet bills! :eek3: Our previous dogs were not...

    Table scraps......

My deaf dog learned mostly standard dog obedience signs for sit, stay, down, etc. But I did teach her the ASL sign for STOP! and she knows when I sign that she dang better quit whatever she is doing, ROFL! :D

    Anyone like books?

You're very welcome! :aw: Two more books I'm reading now: Happiness Is an Inside Job: link Sylvia Boorstein And one more by her: It's Easer Than You Think: link Sylvia Boorstein I find her very readable and enjoyable. Easy to follow. :) I got both books through our library.

    Anyone like books?

Hard to say. Most of the books give tips, but not a step by step direction. I learned Zen meditation many years ago at the local Zen Center. I didn't have to join or anything, but took classes and was taught their method of sitting meditation, and then I just went there to meditate. Now I just...

What did you do today? Part II

Sunday brunch (when we allow ourselves eggs & bacon, potatoes & muffins w/ OJ :naughty:). Laundry. Going to the library. Grocery store. Cooking small beef roast for dinner. Working on ASL flash cards for next chapters. Playing online w/ my last cup of coffee right now. :type:

    Anyone like books?

She is wonderful for anyone interested in living Buddhism. Also, there are others I like, like Sylvia Boorstein, Shunryu Suzuki, Charlotte Joko Beck. If you are interested in spiritual reading, and about meditation, these are good authors, all Buddhist, IMO. :)

    Anyone like books?

 I love to read! Been doing it most of my life. Love books & love our library! Books were my first answer "Where do you want to go today" before the Microsoft computer commercials. :laugh2: I always have a couple of books going, spiritual and fun stuff. Right now I am reading a Star...

Is it true that ADA made movie theaters to have CC a law?

I'm glad there are more ways to have CC in theaters now what with the new cc glasses and the cupholder individual display. :dance2: Maybe now theaters won't be just scheduling on low attendance nights like Tuesdays, LOL! :giggle: We gave up on our local theaters because that's what they would...

Hmmmm...posted and it disappeared. :( Oh, well, here goes... :P Feeling pretty good today. Arthritis flare-up is over for now. :dance2: Having a relaxing morning after sleeping in. Had a great time with our new friend from ASL class. We used what signs we know along with our voices for...

What are you thinking about? Part V

UGH! I really really get disgusted with irresponsible dog owners! And then when someone tries to do the right thing, the people don't appreciate that a caring person likely saved their dog's life (from being run over, etc.). Some people don't deserve to have pets.:hmm:

    Last Movie You Watched?

Watched Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta in "Mad City" (1997) last night. Worth a watch, IMO. Other films have also dealt with the subject matter of the news media "making" news and going more for entertainment and less for new reporting w/integrity and truth. But this one was still watchable. :P

    Last Movie You Watched?

I agree. Once a new perspective is done successfully, there are "clones" for years to come. Copies of the original idea, but not as well done usually. :| Cheaper than paying top dollar for good writers or copyright payments to authors of great books that would make good films, I guess. Beat an...

Reality TV... Love It or Hate It?

Since so many series seem to be on their last seasons for some reason (economy? cheaper to produce "reality" shows?) we are watching our way through older series that we enjoy since even with satellite feed, good drama or scifi seems to be dwindling... So we are watching the original...

What are you thinking about? Part V

Thinking about a quote I read about quantum physics and how our perceptions are sometimes an illusion of our reality. If we change how we look at things, we can make positive changes in attitude. Some wisdom there. Just by a new more "scientific" name, but perhaps ancient wisdom nonetheless. :)...

What did you do today? Part II

Rested yesterday. Mika came home beautiful from the groomer as always. She grows hair between her toes and has been slipping & sliding on the linoleum in the kitchen, poor thing. Now that her nails & toe hair are trimmed, as well as the rest of her, she is much happier walking through the...

    TV advertisement

What I hate is the drug culture that is encouraged with all the Rx drug commercials. Like, life will be oh-so-wonderful for you if you take this Rx for whatever health issue you may have kind of thing. And how they rush through the often life-threatening side effects so we won't notice too much...
