Last night we watched a very predictable bit of fluff romantic comedy called "View from the Top" (2003) w/ Gwyneth Paltrow, Candice Bergen, Mike Meyers (hilarious! :laugh2:) and Mark Ruffalo. :P

Good action flick: "Stealth" (2005) w/ Josh Lucas, Jessica Biel, Jamie Foxx, Sam Shepherd. Bummer that the "making of" had subtitles in about 5 languages, but *NONE* in English. :roll: The movie was captioned in English, though. It's irritating to me that special features aren't often captioned...

I agree that sometimes the remakes just aren't up to the original. As for these two movies, haven't seen the originals recently enough to be able to compare, though. I have been surprised a few times, but not many, that remakes stand up to the original in impact. Could be a technology thing...

Thinking of the retreat this morning at the Deaf Center about working with transition & change in life. There will be signing and CART for us all. Looking forward to it. Been to one other with the leader and she is awesome. Will see some friends from ASL class there, too. :aw:

Just finished Star Trek "World Without End" by Joe Haldeman (1979), which had some interesting concepts, and then began another Star Trek, "Black Fire" by Sonni Cooper (1982). Plus continuing on with the Sylvia Boorstein's book, "Happiness is an Inside Job." :mrgreen:

We watched a "double feature" of movies last night: :popcorn: The remake of "Born Yesterday" with Melanie Griffith, John Goodman & Don Johnson and the remake of "Walking Tall" with The Rock. Both predictable, of course, but enjoyable anyway.
