    Last Movie You Watched?

Love it when they do that, offering free weekend access to premium channels! We never sign up for the channels, but we get to watch some movies for the weekend. So, we make sure we have popcorn, and plan ahead. LOL! :P

    Don't throw your TTY away!

When I had a TTY and amplified phone, I had it set up for VCO, so captioning only one way. I spoke; didn't have to type my response. Speeded up phone calls with hearing people. :P However, now that most companies have the recorded phone gauntlet in which you have to select a number option, TTY &...

Is it true that ADA made movie theaters to have CC a law?

Once my hearing dropped beyond using the ear phone set up for amplified sound in theaters (most have had those all along), I gave up going to theaters. I just wait for the DVD of the movie I want to see to come out, either at my library or through Netflix, and watch it then. In recent years...

    CC or Subtitles

Live show captioning has always been problematic, in my experience. News shows are often horrible, for example. I once emailed and complained to my favorite news station and I found out a few interesting things. The professional captioners were not even located in the studio where the news show...

What rights do I have in relation to moulds?

I hope your appt. is very soon, then! And it's entirely possible the audiologist can shave very sparingly the molds so they fit better as well. That's what mine has done in the past to remove sore spots. If that doesn't work, then absolutely, new molds are made. Good luck! You should always...

What are you thinking about? Part V

That it's time to practice some ASL again, since we finished classes 6/27. Something we can do more of at the moment, with my husband around right now. :P

    How are you feeling today?....

Feeling OK. Good sleeping last night. Arthritis not too bad this morning, even after walking w/ Mika dog and my husband yesterday. We are adjusting to my husband's layoff, just living each day. Doing what needs to be done, like filing for unemployment, and otherwise, life goes on.

    I survived vacation

How rude they watched a lot of movies and refused to turn on the captioning! :eek3: I am sorry you had to put up with that lack of consideration. At least it's over and you're home now. :P

    My new Resound Veas

Just got them this Wednesday (ironically just after DH, husband, got laid off; we'd already signed the loan papers :|). They are medium priced, just over half what Phonak Nadias would cost me, to replace (I've had the BTE Nadias for 8 years, but last two they couldn't help me as much and I was...

What rights do I have in relation to moulds?

Glad you are getting an appt. and a remake on the molds. It is the audiologist's responsibility. :aw:

What rights do I have in relation to moulds?

My audiologist always fine tunes the fit of the molds. She shaves a little at a time as I describe where the sore spots are. Then I get comfortable wear all day long, day after day. But she can't do the fine fitting unless I tell her where it hurts, etc. It's her job to make them fit right, part...

    CapTel phones (or similar devices)

840i has not been trouble free The phone has not been trouble free. :( I am keeping a log. Besides sometimes the captioning not kicking in & having to hang up & redial. Sometimes captions has also failed for incoming calls and I've had to ask people to hang up & call again. :o Also, one message...

What did you do today? Part II

Well, yeah, but he can't get full soc. security until the year he will turn 66. (Next year). Medicare won't cut it alone so we would have to get supplemental with our current health provider, too. Likely over $600/month for the two of us (well, we *hope* only $600; Cobra to continue our coverage...
