    HDTV and Closed Captioning

Updated at: Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire At half way, you will notice people talking for about 10 seconds and there is no CC. Peter

Everyone need to Speak UP for Closed Caption Now god DAMMIT

Home Theater PC (HTPC) with HDTV tuner (preferably external HD Homerun HDTV tuner), Blu-ray drive and operating system containing Media Center Edition (MCE 2005 or Vista Premium) would probably be a better alternative. It's going to be more expensive than stand-alone Blu-ray player but you would...

Please tell Blu-Ray to support Closed Caption CC

Yes. It's not available in XP Pro. Only in MCE 2005 or Vista Premium. You cannot buy or install stand alone Media Center Edition on XP Pro because it's part of Operating System found only in MCE 2005 or Vista Premium. MCE 2005 is XP Pro with an addition of Media Center Edition software. Peter

Everyone need to Speak UP for Closed Caption Now god DAMMIT

I am having a hard time figuring out why many (or most) people prefer CC over sub-titles. I am HOH and I like sub-titles more than CC. I respect others that prefer CC over sub-titles. More and more Blu-ray movies have sub-titles designed for the deaf and HOH. What's wrong with that? After...

Please tell Blu-Ray to support Closed Caption CC

The CC comes from Windows Media Center (Vista or Windows MCE 2005). Media Center CC works great. HD Homerun is just a piece of hardware to tune HDTV signals and does not care for CC. It's the software that provides CC support. MCE CC has black background but you can change it. I don't exactly...

Please tell Blu-Ray to support Closed Caption CC

I built the computer myself. The two HDTV tuner cards are VBOX DTA-150. There are many HDTV tuner cards available in both old style PCI and new style PCI-e. This is not a capture card that you might copy from DVD or Blu-ray players and it's a big difference unless you meant HDTV tuner card...

Blu-ray discs and players with real CC

Yes, if DVR supports CC. Most DVR supports CC but check before you buy. Most cable or satellite DVRs support CC. I found this from TiVo web site: How do I enable Closed Captioning? - TiVo It looks like TiVo HD DVRs support CC. Peter

Please tell Blu-Ray to support Closed Caption CC

This is what you said: "3.When Blu-Ray recorders come out Deaf people like to record a show when they are not come. The only way they can watch the show after it has been recorded is Closed Caption." I was trying to say how you can or cannot record HDTV programs depending on whether you...

Please tell Blu-Ray to support Closed Caption CC

I read your list of requirement. The only way to record TV shows on Blu-ray recorders is by Over-the-Air (OTA) antenna because HDTV from OTA is NOT encrypted. Blu-ray recorders will require ATSC tuners inside. You CANNOT record HDTV programs from HDTV cable or satellite to Blu-ray recorders...

i have small question about cc!!!

Component cables should work with modern DVD players. You have to set the DVD player output to "Interlace" or "non-progressive" scan via menu screen from DVD player. HMDI may provide the best video quality but CC cannot be transmitted through HDMI cable. Component signals support 1920 x...

Blu-ray discs and players with real CC

Hello, I have been reading this thread trying to understand complaints about digital CC. It appears the biggest complaint of not being able to see CC from external devices through HDMI. 1. I have no complaints about using sub-titles from Blu-ray movies. I prefer sub-titles over CC and I am...

    HDTV and Closed Captioning

Using my camcorder, I made a video recording of my TV showing "Cold Case" that has minor HDTV CC issue. I converted the video tape to WMV file and e-mailed the file to my local CBS station. The station manager said the HDTV CC issue is a nationwide problem and he forwarded my WMV file to CBS...

    HDTV and Closed Captioning

HDTV CC issues are most likely from your local stations. In the past, I have contacted at least three different local stations about my HDTV CC issues and they have resolved them. It took me six months to convice one local station the problem was coming from them, not my TV and they finally...

    Closed Captioning on CBS lately

I saw CSI last night. It was not delayed but at about every three or four sentences of CC displayed, it would skip a sentence or two. Pretty annoying. Peter

    Closed Captioning on CBS lately

I noticed the same thing. It seems to happen every time a new scene starts, CC is not only delayed but accelerates to catch up and then CC is fine for the rest of this same scene. But when the next new scene starts, CC is messed up again the exact same way. I have contacted my local station...

    DVD subtitles solution

What software in Xbox 360 are you using to playback DVD movies and display CC? Also, what kind of video cable connection between Xbox and TV? Is it HDMI, DVI, Component (3 video cables), Composite (single cable), S-Video (Single cable with multiple pins)? Peter

NBC: No Captions since last several days!

I would still contact local NBC station. My local NBC station manager told me they provide direct feed to our local cable company. If that's the case, then it's likely the fault is from local NBC station, not cable company. It does not hurt to contact them. The worse they can say it's the cable...

NBC: No Captions since last several days!

Contact your local NBC station. Sometimes my local NBC station runs some experiments and causes CC to behave erractically or stop working. I write e-mails to them and they usually revert back to original settings in their equipment and all is well. Even if you have cable, the issue can still...

    HDTV and Closed Captioning

I am going to assume "cable only Closed Captioned does work" for analog stations only. If that's the case, you have to enable Closed Caption in HDTV Cable box via menu setup. I do not know if your cable box supports CC. If it's not supported, contact your cable company and request for a HDTV...

    FOX network CC

I am using OTA antenna and CC problems are from digital or HDTV stations only. I get very good signal strength and signal strength is not the issue. I have CC issue only from FOX station. I get very good signal strength from six other digital or HDTV stations (CBS, NBC, PBS, ABC, MyNetwork, CW)...
