Wow, I (and presumably the person I know who who is studying to be an audiologist) have never heard of 1 - 13 before. Maybe 4 was the maximum she has (had) heard of, or it has been what her hearing aids have always been. I will have to ask her.

have had a numerical volume control, what is or was it set at? Someone who I know who is studying to be an audiologist and who wears hearing aids used to wear some between 2 and 3, and told me that "if set at 4, they break down quicker for people".

whether Sarah Palin was wearing or wears an earpiece at certain times during the US Presidential election campaign will now - hopefully - become far less of an issue than it was, in which ear would you wear an earpiece if you had to, and why? I would say my right ear because I am right handed...

I don't see a problem with cochlear implants - but I am sure that some time, there will be a story somewhere about someone who had one when they were quite young saying sometime later that it was not what they wanted. Now THAT is a problem that needs looking into before it happens!

And let's not forget - seeing as this forum is connected with deaf matters - he wears (and I think he did while in office, but I am prepared to be connected on this!) hearing aids! (OK Reagan did, but he was a little older!)

to be an audiologist who wears hearing aids that in the near future, all newly qualified audiologists in the US will have to have the letters Au.D after their name. Does your present audiologist have these letters?
