Yes I can survive without a food for just a day, and I do the fasting sometimes. Fasting feel really good because if I don't eat for a day then I will eat the meal like crazy and my body feel so refreshed. But I don't think it was healthy, though.

The nictonie gums, patches, etc are very expensive than the cigarettes. If they ban the cigarettes, then how can they support others that they earned from the cigarette's taxes? I believe in the personal choices and the cigarettes does not affect the job's scheludes, or causing emotionally...
