600-Pound Mom Shoots For New World Record

"Jokes" which negate the sexuality of people because they don't look "normal" are not very funny at all.

No more welfare for drug users

You can get just as easily addicted to prescription medications, if not moreso. Legality is not an indicator of either safety or addiction potential. Rich people get employed and make money using drugs because they can pay a doctor to prescribe it, legitimately or not, right dose or not...

    What's the oldest/youngest person you'd date?

20-60. I'm not really picky with regards to age, ha. if I'm into you and you're legal, its all cool- but I'm usually into older people.

No more welfare for drug users

TANF is already only given to parents who are raising minor children with full custody, and is only awarded when you are genuinely dirt-poor. This is not punishing drug users, it is punishing their children. Poor people have to self medicate for a lot of reasons, not all (or even most) of...

Would you date someone with kids?

I've dated someone with 4 children before. It was not a significant factor in liking them, or why the relationship broke up. I would date someone with children again.

No more welfare for drug users

I am a Rand-loving, objectivist, dirty capitalist, and even I cannot stop myself from being completely repulsed by the vast majority of American "capitalists". There is just something deeply wrong with these people.

Rights panel agrees with deaf man denied interpreter

Too busy being super-special and entitled to actually care for their patients seems to be the standard 90% of the doctors you meet in the US go by, unfortunately.

Rights panel agrees with deaf man denied interpreter

I don't think this is uncommon at all. One time, an opthalmologist's office -gave- me a terp, but the doctor kept insisting I pay attention to him and not my terp because I could "understand him" and he wanted to "communicate with me". He kept telling me to "look at him" when we were just...

    Pre-natal testing for desirable babies

That's not completely true. Here in the US, SOME clinics only perform voluntary abortions up to 12 weeks, but some clinics also perform up to 16+ weeks. And if you go on up to Canada, a lot of clinics perform 16+ weeks. By 14 weeks, an experienced ultrasound tech who determines sex has about...

    Pre-natal testing for desirable babies

No. That would be "vaginal insemination", or sometimes doctors perform "intrauterine insemination" (injecting the semen high up to hopefully better the chances of pregnancy). IVF is when eggs are extracted from the mother, or from a donor, and semen is given from the father or from a donor...

    Pre-natal testing for desirable babies

... wait, this became a coherent argument at some point? Jeez, why did nobody send me the memo.

    Pre-natal testing for desirable babies

Exaggeration can be quite expressive of why you find a particular argument to be failing. "If what you're saying is true, and x ridiculous act adheres to what you're saying, why is that ridiculous act also not part of your belief system" is much more expressive than "dude, you're wrong."

    Pre-natal testing for desirable babies

While I don't think either of us agree, I do think that clears up your opinion. Your previous posts seemed strongly anti-any-intervention, which made your subsequently stating you'd have chosen termination seem really out of the blue. Thanks for clarifying.

    Law Requires Ultrasound Before Abortion

Weber is part of a pro-life propaganda service which will of course attempt to smear the name of abortion providers and act as though women are refused access to their ultrasound pics. That is not, however, the -actual reality-.

    Law Requires Ultrasound Before Abortion

You're kind of off the mark here, though. HIV is still probably greatly life shortening for people who contracted it in the past, but we have absolutely no idea how long people diagnosed tomorrow or two years from now will live. Given the fact that HIV survival has literally skyrocketed in the...

    Pre-natal testing for desirable babies

But PGD (picking healthy fertilized eggs, and only implanting them) and prenatal diagnosis DO give many parents answers, DO show many parents that their child would be the one to suffer. If you accept that terminating the pregnancy would have been a valid choice, why do you see it as meddling...

    Pre-natal testing for desirable babies

There was a 75% chance that the pregnancy which resulted in me would have resulted in a healthy child (though my parents didn't know that at the time). I could have received different care in my childhood and probably would not have become deaf under a different set of circumstances. I could...

    Law Requires Ultrasound Before Abortion

No. ultrasounds were already includinged and will remain the same price. The law is about implying to the general public that abortion providers would otherwise not perform ultrasounds on women, or would attempt to hide the images from women. It is strictly propaganda. Women already get...

    Law Requires Ultrasound Before Abortion

Ultrasounds are already included in your abortion. A doctor would not perform an abortion without staging the pregnancy visually and confirming that it is not a tubal pregnancy. This law has nooothing to do with actually ensuring the health of women, and everything to do with showboating.
