I'm actually trying to look into that! :) I spoke to the assistive tech. coordinator at my college and we've been setting it up! He said I could go and choose if I wanted, so now I'm stuck between iSense and Amigo Star. But I'm still planning on testing them out. That's what it really comes down to.

Yeah, I get that a lot too! My boss always gets annoyed with me because he has an accent and I can't understand him, plus the whole slow process...I just ask him to repeat, in which he replies with a sigh...but I can't help it!

Same here! I was born at 23 1/2 weeks, have APD, was mute till 5yo and also have other LDs, PDs, MDs! And I have an LD in math among other things. haha!! :)

I hear ya sister! I was a late talker too, and even now, I have issues explaining what I truly want to say when I speak. I was also in speech therapy as a kid, which helped, but I feel the same as you and Chelsea. I just love how freeing ASL is. Plus I take things quite literally, which is...

yeah, that's tough :/ but if we can bridge the gaps and try to not judge others by their abilities to sign/hear then maybe we could feel a little more accepted. Not to say that all feel this way, but if this does occur often in your case Chelsea, maybe we can hope to change this :)

Because I have difficulty hearing conversations in background noise. I have well enough hearing to not need a hearing aid, however voices need to be amplified when I'm conversing in loud places, (work, school, restaurants, the car, etc.) My teacher recommended it and so did spec. ed a few months...
