I think you will love Zorin. Hell, even the games that come with the set up are better than anything with windows....at least in my opinion. LOL :D I think all of the software programs are superior to anything that you can get with windows too....and it's all FREE! How freakin' awesome is...

WOW! I never even knew Lou Ferrigno was deaf! How freakin' cool! AND he does talk very well. I wish I could lip read as good. I remember watching The Hulk as a kid...and I have seen Lou in bit parts on various shows...how freakin' cool and inspirational!

Oh yes! That was my problem...I am a noob to the whole terminal/command line thing...so when I found the Zorin OS version of Ubuntu I was ESTATIC! I had tried Fedora...and may eventually re-install Fedora again...but I was L-O-S-T when I tried it. I couldn't get anything to install or anything...

Zorin 5 OS. It's free and super excellent and easy to use and is a version of Ubuntu. If she has blu-ray then this version of the OS will run great. Just put Zorin on a USB flash drive and boot from it. Should be able to set up boot sequence in the BIOS or hit whatever key for the one time...

I am sure there are a fair few folks here who, like me, just LOATHE windows and microsoft. I have had nothing but friggin' grief for YEARS with windows. Blue screens of Death, viruses, malware, useless programs that you can't remove and use up resources, trojans, spyware, and the list goes on...

Yep...it can be a real bitch adjusting to deafness after years of having hearing. I found the best way to deal with it is to just do what it takes to learn everything one can about Deaf Culture and take ASL classes, lip reading training, speech therapy if required, and anything else one can find...
