Modem already handles that. >_> No need to do that for the router. Besides, she simply resetted the router and didn't need to make any configurations beyond the defaults. (I'm assuming here, from what she's said.)

Yeah. :/ I've also done setups where every single computer had to check with a server first. If they didn't pass the server's security checks, they were not allowed to connect to the network until it was able to pass the checks. Corporate-grade, but I'm thinking of implementing the same...

You shouldn't have an issue then. Simply set it as DHCP and you should be good to go, since the modem's doing all the work for you. Feel free to reset and reconfigure.
