    Medel - Rondo Info

I'm glad MedEl users have this option... but I have to say, I probably wouldn't choose it if AB had it. The Rondo is quite large. I'd be really worried about it falling off so I'd have to use the restraining cable and clip... at which point the main benefits of having an all in one unit are...

Adults profoundly deaf that have has cochlear implants

My opinion is that people who have good auditory memory (late-deafened or progressive hearing loss that was aided early) and don't do well with implants aren't very involved in achieving better hearing. CI mapping is an intense, time consuming process that requires constant user feedback. Some...

Did you wear body aid while young?

My first hearing aids were Phonak BTEs at age 4, in the 80s. Never had a body worn hearing aid, though I have a Neptune speech processor now. It's so tiny compared to all of the pictures in this thread.

    Day one

You're nowhere near this point right now, but progressive hearing loss is no longer the career death sentence it was. If you do ever lose enough hearing to get down to the profound level, a cochlear implant is an option. Mine greatly helped me. I can hear people much better now than I have been...

I get mine on ebay, like $20 for 60. I had no idea costco had decent prices on batteries, I'll have to see how long they last. I usually use PowerOne as they last the longest, about 3 weeks for my Naida S UP.

    Adaptive Pitch (CI users preferably)

6 Hz to 24 Hz. HiRes90k/AB Neptune, my 75 IDR+No ClearVoice program worked best for me. I also have a Naida S IX UP I wear at the same time... I tried a few different programs on it but it didn't seem to make much difference between soundrecover on or off. I was using loudspeakers hooked...

    Hello

Thanks! Still trying to learn how to add line breaks here. Edit: Okay, looks like turning off the wysywyg editor fixed that right up.

    Hello

Hi everyone. I'm a bimodal CI and HA user. Implant is sixth months old and I've had progressive hearing loss all my life. I was fitted with hearing aids at age 4. I was trying to add a signature, and it told me I was not permitted one. I assume I have to have more posts first?
