C.i. cons??- Ringing in ears so bad that c.i is worthless - Sound isn't very clear -Insurance cost (loss ,damage ) -Paying for batteries -Having to tell ignorant people that it's NOT a miracle

If i ever had a deaf kid i wouldn't make them have c.i, just like religion i would let them make up their own mind when they were old enough

Why do you need c.i. if you have got total hearing in one ear ? That's just crap, 1 ear with full hearing should be suffient .i used to have very good hearing in one ear not perfect though and zero hearing in the other and i never had a problem

Dude my ringing in the ears has never been worse since i had a c.i. ,and i have to have c.i. turned down to level 1 (lowest) because it just gets so bad when volume goes up that c.i. becomes worthless.I've been switched on for a month and 2 weeks (i think) and everytime i go to get speech...

Well i can actually get a bit of sound out of my implant now 3 and a half weeks into mapping ,seems to go best with speech in quiet enviroments but it is pretty good with music too.I keep the volume down low ( 2 or 3) otherwise i get the ringing and my hearing is worse than if i didn't wear...
