I am very new to this forum (first day posting). I am not deaf but my hearing is failing quickly. Just from reading the posts in this thread I had no idea of how things were for the deaf from birth years ago. I was always under the impression that sign was around for hundreds of years, maybe not...

All I can offer is I have tinnitus 24/7 in both ears. Wearing my hearing aids cuts down on it while I'm occupied. Sometimes getting to sleep can be a challenge. When I'm in a quiet environment it can be all consuming. At those time I have to divert my attention to something else (like forums).

Does anyone ride the Washington, DC Rolling Thunder ride?
