It depends what type of ushers you have. some are born HOH or fully hearing and loose both later on. It varies.

Most of them are, or they were born hearing sighted and lost both senses later on. Very few deafblind grew up that way. Most deafblind also have usesful sight and or hearing. With modern advances this is becoming even more common now then it was in the past.

They do that a lot. I think that's one of the biggest problems with blind that people focus on that as the main issue instead of on other things. I know some blind and deafblind people and really their blindness is the least of their problems.
