    Sorry you feel that way. On the other hand, I get tired of hearing the negative comments and myth about CIs as well. I get tired others who do not have CIs thinking they know everything about CIs. I am deaf and yes I do care about my speech and listening skills.

    can you go without your magnet and hear the same? I don't know why ab is like this. I will find out. Either way I feel comfortable with the magnet since I worry about the processor coming off.

    My migraines came from wearing hearing aids. Since I had ci surgery my migraines have disappeared. I even stopped all my medicine a few weeks after surgery. I had the opposite results. I am just happy that the person in the video is happy. No one should live in pain.

    Mine too. I heard big band music in my right ear and movie themes in my left ear. Nothing could stop it. As soon as they turned me on it did stop. Do you still get some tinnitus? If I don't wear my CIs, I will get tinnitus in the late afternoon. Most of the time(95%) I don't have any problems.

    I have had my implants for over a year and my tinnitus has mostly stopped. The only time it even occurs is when I have sinus problems.

    I always explain the outer magnet as the device to turn on the speech processor. Like plug it in. Good luck with the book.

    Because I had dizziness before surgery and I also had both ears done, it did take awhile. I would guess around 6 months. Only because of prior medical condition. I am not sure of the average time.

    It really depends on you. I was dizzy so dizzy, I didn't drive for 4 weeks. I felt fine a week after surgery except for the dizziness.

    New with questions!

    Very true. I had the audie, the doctor, and Physican assistant discuss expectations with me. My expectations were to have a verbal conversation with my daughter without struggling. I also just wanted to hear a little better than with hearing aids.

    I agree with Hear Again. I took oxycodin. You really will need it. The ringing for me got worst, but disappeared after activation. Just rest and remember it seems that day 3 is the worst by far.
