i bring a guest if i want to (ONLY if it says on the invitation) to keep me company... many people do that these days... who likes to go to weddings alone??? unless it doesn't say A GUEST on the invitation...

i don't know what the german culture is like... i have been to weddings where i was allowed to bring a guest (they do that in american cultures, if they can afford more people).... AND... *** if brought a guest with me, it means they are invited too.... and i would NEVER leave her/him...

i think you misunderstood me... i said, if you were invited to a wedding and were allowed to bring a guest, i wouldn't bring an UNinvited guest to a wedding unless it says so on the invitation... i would say that this is all common sense unless some people don't have the proper etiquette...

i have recieved invitations where it is addressed like this.... or got invited by people as their guests as well... Ms. "" "" and guest <<< ??? that means the guest is also invited by the bride and groom too??? address city, state, zip

even if the guest/s know the bride and/or groom???

Some of you seem to be assuming that she has already asked for monetary gifts on her invitations - she hasn't even selected her invitations yet! All she wanted was an opinion about the proprietary of putting that on her invitations or if it was a no-no. So far, I've seen ONE good...
