Will do. I'll probably see my step-mom's audiologist. I saw him a few years ago when I started having issues... Actually, that's something else that keeps me away. In a sound-controlled room, I hear the sounds I'm supposed to hear, so they can't find anything wrong. :/ That's what happened...

Yeah. Well, I'm not sure about it. All I know is he's got one for each ear, and he uses them occasionally, but for the most part they sit in the center console of his truck. Posted from Alldeaf.com App for Android

My uncle has them (he's got the same problems), and he refuses to wear them. He says they don't help with what he's lost, they just amplify what he's got left, and it doesn't help. I guess it's different for everybody?

Nah, we're not blood brothers. We're just... That close. Always have been. But yeah. He's kind of a dick. It's just his nature. But I'm wondering, if my best friend in the world has this kind of take on what's happening to me, what about everybody else that I associate with?

    What's that sound, Mommy?

I'm actually incredibly surprised we don't have any gadgets for that. ... It's something I'm looking into, though. Well... Kinda. The nerd in me is going to find answers of one sort or another.

    Observations

Yeah. I'm scared that's going to happen to me. I'm already rough around the edges, I don't need something else that people don't want to deal with. My best friend/brother already told me he's not learning any sign; I better get used to texting.

    Observations

I don't know how bad it is... :/ I'm procrastinating going to an audiologist because I'm stuck in a mindset of, "what's the point, knowing isn't going to change anything." This cheered me up a lot. Thank you for that. Hahaha.

    Observations

So I make active attempts at taking inventory of my actions and the actions of others. I pride myself on being moderately observant. I was sitting with a bunch of friends tonight, playing a game... As some of you may know, my hearing is okay for the most part, except when any (and I mean as...

    Nitro's recent situation

Concealed Carry I'd suggest watching Nutnfancy's videos... Just a heads up... Closed captioning works, but it's kinda sloppy in a couple places, because he doesn't speak 100% clearly. Edit: I'm watching the vids with CC... It's really bad. :( Might have to transcribe it.

    Nitro's recent situation

It definitely is a heavy burden to bear, when it comes to carrying. I will try to find some links on preparation for self defense.

    Craiglist threat

This is the reason I carry everywhere, even at home. Only place I don't carry is church. People are scary though. :( Posted from Alldeaf.com App for Android

    Ammunition Rationing

That's good. I switched to .38 special so I can find ammunition at a reasonable price. Hahaha... Turns out my snubby's a beast. I love it. Best decision I've made regarding firearms.

    Best and Worst Inventions?

Best: cell phones. Worst: Tough call. Video games come to mind. Huge waste of time and potential talent.

Law lets South Dakota schools arm teachers

Cool. That adds them to the slowly growing list, along with Utah and Texas. And the interesting thing is, there's not going to be any "blood in the halls" situations like pro gun-control individuals keep screaming about, because these things have already been tested in Utah and Texas. :)

Things That Only Happen to Deaf People

... I just had a thought, and I need to get together with one of my software coding buddies. You just gave me a wonderful idea for some Deaf assistant software! :ty:

    How are you feeling today?....

Well, the weather sucks and it's making my legs hurt, but I'm in high spirits. I get to test out a new gun I bought. I think the good outweighs the bad. :)

    Remmy?

Depends on the context. It offended me at first. Now it's just something I accept. :)

    Remmy?

That's an interesting way to look at it, Amylynne. Looking at the way my roommate talks, you're absolutely right, it really is something you'd expect from a hearie. I'm not sure if I do that, though. I'm a fairly articulate person. But yeah. I definitely get what you're saying.

    Remmy?

So... A quick look into Urban Dictionary (a website that explains modern slang) shows that, in Deaf culture, it's a shortened version of remember, but... Outside Deaf culture... Its meaning isn't very nice. But there's not really any indicator of where it started.
