I think once you get them, you'll be able to notice if they fall out (which hasn't happened for my dad) because you suddenly won't be able to hear as well. What's your degree of hearing loss?

I currently have Unitrons, and I'm in the process of scheduling an appt with a new audiologist. I really like the Phonak BTEs, though, I really want something by them. Hopefully within a month I'll have them! My dad, who has a milder, late onset, hearing loss, wears Phonak open fits, and I think...

I have the open fit right now, because my audi didn't know what the heck she was doing when she fitted me with them. I'm getting new HAs because I need more power than the open fit type.

I think part of the confusion is from the fact that I went to a private school up until fifth grade, so in the smaller classrooms it wasn't necessary. I guess by the time I started at a public middle school, they thought I would be fine because I had gone through 6 years without one..
