I think, "best" depends on the situation. If possible, I believe covering the fire is the safest way. I have a friend who tried to move a grease fire in a pan to the sink and got burned badly. In that case, he should have just covered the pan. I'm not sure, but I think fryers have lids.

I have it. I've found that eating healthy has helped. For me, drinking decaf coffee/tea has also helped. Work out a schedule of exercise and healthy eating. You'll be OK.

Late blinded, I never really thought about it. Physically, I wonder if it is easier to adapt.

Neither, I'd rather be born with perfect hearing. But, since you asked: I'd would have rather been late deafened. I would have been able to learn better and be more social in my childhood.
