I remember just before I did my CI operation , my HA been whistling so much , that I had gone through 5 earmold changes...in a month! lost my patience and I let my HA whistle for the rest of two months till I got implanted...I remember my relief when I finally was lucid..NO MORE WHISTLING...

Same story as overthepond's , only difference was middle 80's :shock: I also had my box hearing aid at 10 months old from NY hospital.Brand was Oticon. At 5 years I got my first BTE's , analog.since then I've been through a number of them and I got CI just a year ago!

Charlotte , it's the same..30 inches are 28 cm..and I use the long coil and I wear it onto my shoulder..and I can turn my head etc..it's very nice..see my pics on FB...I don't at all regret getting it that way...
