    Nucleus 5 -- Experiences?

Hi everyone! I'm currently awaiting insurance approval for the Nucleus 5 external processor for my right ear. I'm curious to know if anyone has had experience with this processor and if so, what they have been like -- positive or negative. If my question has already been asked, please...

I'm Back! -- This Time For Good!!!

Hi everyone!! How are all of you doing?? I've REALLY missed all of you!! <smile> I'm planning to move out of my current apartment building that I've been living in for 15 years. It's time for a change. I no longer feel comfortable here because of some issues I've had to deal with. Even my...

    Shampoo

I have normal hair for which I use Pert Plus or Herbal Essences. For best results, I alternate shampoos every 2 weeks so my hair doesn't become too oily or dried out. I also let my hair air dry to prevent frizziness.

Well I went back to my old Audi..ugh.

CBE, I agree with others who have said this is an unfortunate situation. Your story reminds me of an audi I had who treated me in a similar manner. I fired him after several visits, but I know you're "between a rock and a hard place." I wish you all the best in trying to get all of this ironed...

How Long Do Your HA Batteries Last?

I've heard (no pun intended) the same recommendation from other hearing aid users regarding PowerOne batteries. When I used to wear hearing aids, my batteries (675) lasted anywhere from 7-14 days depending on the elements (i.e. cold temperatures) and daily use.

What would happen to CI if the company went out of business?

One CI brand I know of is the 3M Storz that came out in the early to mid 80s. However, I have a feeling that Cochlear, AB and Med-El will be around for a long time to come.

Deaf stay Deaf- Why Cochlear Implant

I decided to receive CIs due to my deafblindness. Prior to my initial CI surgery, I communicated using tactile sign/tactile terps, print on palm, TeleBraille and the Teletouch. My decision was mainly based on how slow and tedious print on palm is and how difficult it can be to find tactile...

Meeting a Deafblind person in real life

It is true that many DBPs (deafblind persons) have varying capabilities, but a majority of them live happy, productive independent lives. I happen to be one of them. I'm totally deafblind (although I can hear with CIs) and take care of all my daily responsibilities on my own. When I explain...
