Have any of you felt extremely lonely & lost at some point...?

So true. People learn ASL for a purpose, and if we dont know anyone with whom we could converse in ASL, its just pointless.

Have any of you felt extremely lonely & lost at some point...?

Actually I have been learning ASL for a few months now, and I have a CI too which probably helps me, but that doesnt mean my communication is perfect. My problem is that I really dont have any deaf people/friends to communicate with in ASL; my local deaf community is kinda small, and most people...

Have any of you felt extremely lonely & lost at some point in your lives?? I know I am not the only one, but I wanted to see if it is worth opening up myself to people here and share some experiences... I never felt this lonely before in my life, and never thought I would be in a world...

    CI and Iphone

Anyone in here with CI and uses the Iphone? I know there is a AT&T TAP for Iphone users, but has anyone had luck while making calls on the Iphone with the CI ? I am curious to know how you do it - either directly placing the phone next to your CI or through neckloops & other accessories. I...

    Google phone or Iphone

Am curious too how well the Nexus One works, and the Qualcomm processor is just amazing. Yesterday I came across a news report that only 20k devices have been sold so far, and people are having a lot of issues with the 3G connection and apps. Of course, you got to give Google time to get better...

    Sprint Webcaptel

I have used it a couple of times, but by talking from my phone and getting captions on my computer. Never tried it yet on 2 smartphones; it doesnt have to be that way I guess.

    Tips for dating hearing women?

Just two things - Confidence & Openness. If you are confident enough to sweep off a girl, your hearing loss would never would be an issue to her. And if it is, she is probably out of her mind! (not sure why I said this, but I have not been actively dating!!).

    Blackberry and Telecoils

    Blackberry and Telecoils

Has anyone out here had radio interference buzzing from using the CI telecoil program and the blackberry curve on GSM Network (AT&T) ?? I am finding it really hard to figure out why my blackberry and CI dont work on telecoil. Can someone help please?

    Blackberry and Telecoils

Here is my experience so far with the CI telecoil and Blackberry Curve - Blackberries work best when used the normal way (no program switching anywhere at all), without telecoil. If your HA/CI is on telecoil, the blackberry will produce a continuous buzzing sound, sort of radio interference...

    Telecoil and interference

Oh yea, alot of times I have felt radio interferences with my Sumo. I think there are three programs, if you put on M2 (Microphone plus Telecoil) you feel it less disturbing. I guess thats how Telecoils work!

    Cochlear Celebration 2009

Glad you asked!! I have been thinking about it for the last fortnight and asked some people out there on Cochlear Community site. I woudn't want to go there all alone not knowing anyone! But I am yet to make my plans :(

    A question about CIs...

No one Cochlear Implant brand is superior than the other. Each one brand has its own positives and negatives. And choosing the brand is just a matter of personal preference, similar to choosing what make of car you plan to buy!

How do you listen to music with your CI?

I am 99% sure I never get "EA" on my processor. I only saw it for the first time during activation when I had disposable batteries. I dont think the EA appears on rechargeable batteries. Correct me if I am wrong, but I still dont see any connection between batteries and programming options.

How do you listen to music with your CI?

I am not really sure what is the best method for CI users to listen and enjoy music. Are there any Cochlear users here who could advise me? I am not bilateral, and I am finding my personal audio cable a little difficult to use. I also tried to use a neckloop, to connect both my hearing aids and...

Are Oticon Hearing Aids Any Good?

Oticons are great, perhaps the most powerful ones I have ever had after Phonak. I currently have a Oticon Sumo XP on my left. Some people are telling me that Sumo is the powerful ones out in the market and the Phonak Naida are getting even better. Maybe Phonak would be a good choice I guess.

    CI Selection

Ok here are my views - I personally think all three brands of CIs deliver best results and no one CI brand is superior than the other. It is just a matter of personal choice - whether you like the features, the durability and reliability, the post-implantation support, etc. I am a Cochlear...

    flipside Q about the CI!

Well thats what they say, that the surgery does have some risks. And there is an extreme rare possibility of facial nerve damage. But those are all medical related risks that we cannot do anything about. I am sure every CI medical team knows about it, and they are extremely careful how they...
