its simply ignorance, and lack of deaf knowledge. Im hearing, and I understand that some deaf people can hear noises but not necessarily language. When my ASL proffessor wears her hearing aides she can hear music but not lyrics, and she can not hear us when we talk ect. if i need to talk to her...

Have they talked about hearing aids for him? I would assume that would be the next step, its always good to start signing with him, if you havent already. Speech is great, but it may be easier for him to learn to sign for when hearing is harder (he may be able to hear more some days then others)...

dont be embarrased, i jsut got it yesterday and wasnt sure before that either, but it basically just makes a small box for every video chat (your can have up to 12 in a room) if you want to make a specific person bigger you can do so by clicking on them. So far I have only chatted with one...
