February 7, 2008 -- The Giants may be America's Super Bowl champs, but there will still be one place in the world where the Patriots' sorry dreams of a perfect season live on: Nicaragua.

Thousands and thousands of unsold caps and T-shirts printed with "19-0" and "Patriots Super Bowl Champions" have been donated to a charity that will ship them next week to the impoverished Central American country.

As soon as the gear arrives, poor children across Nicaragua will be transformed into unwitting members of Patriots Nation.

"It will be a parallel universe, where the Patriots had a perfect season," said Karen Kartes, a spokeswoman for World Vision, the charity that will be delivering the items.

Instead of throwing them away, the NFL has donated the clothes to World Vision.

"They had to be ready for market," said Kartes. "So now, they have to cut their losses."

She said that the people in Nicaragua probably won't know who the Patriots are or the meaning of "19-0."

"They don't care what team name is on it," she said. "They don't know about football. Some of these people have never had a new piece of clothing in their lives. They will wear them until they are threadbare."

Wow, that is really good heart to help poor country.

Nicargauains don't mind to wear "19-0" since they need to wear clothes.

I remmy I seen error champion team clothes at discount stores years ago.

I still with Patriots after Super Bowl loss and 18-1.

The impossibilities of the poor Nicaraguans finding out who is NE Patriots may have hope and possiblities who they are. Someone might explain to them and educate them. There are missionaries who travel to poor sites who can explain to them. I am sure it can happen.
Finally,we wait patiently what will happen in the near future. In the meantime, those kids can enjoy a great American football team.

Nah Nicraguans would give sh*t if NE won or not. If you re saying that they need to be educated to believe that NE is not SB championship, then why didn't NFL send to our homeland, I mean come on we have many homeless people here and they need clothes too.

I applaud NFL that they doing it for good cause but I find it stupid that they send these gear wears to third world countries instead of our own people in US.

Dude answer this: why not NFL give away tshirts with the picture of PATS being 19-0 and SB championship to homeless people in US ?

When they donate stuff to thrift stores/poor people. They get tax credit/write off, so it's not really a big deal losing all the money for unsold hats and t-shirts.

Agreed. But the question why are NFL giving it away to 3rd world countries but not to our people who are homeless and need it badly?

American homeless got better ones: free food, free clothes and home shelters. What more, goverment and police get homeless people off street into the shelves during coldest weather even homeless people can be refuse to be help by the people.

Third World don't. Goverment dont give shit about them and their cops kills them whatever they likes to.

Have we seen these pictures like America homeless? What you think? Our deafies won't be here if we lives in Third World. No VRS...no AllDeaf...no pager...no interpeter. We would ask USA "Why you give Patriots 19-0 clothes away to your american homeless instead us?"

Most likely :

- sell them to ebay for freak error collectible people (I has some error stuffs)
- wear them for their dirty jobs
- cut them up to be rags
- put them as bedding for dog's puppies and cat's kittens
- cut their sleeves to be warmlegs
- burn them up by heartbroke Pats fans (FYI : I am not one of them)

No, why is NFL giving away tshirt of PATS being 19-0 and SB champ to third world instead of homeless people in US?

OK I guess i have to make it obviously and the reason is NFL knew that if they give away these tshirts to US, NFL will being mocked since PAT did not win SB so NFL decided to save their face by giving away these gear wears to 3rd world countries. Good call, I say :)
