What did you learn today?

What did I miss???? Why are you selling Deacon? Sorry to hear that.

Deacon had to be washed out as a service dog potential due to growling, biting and extreme pulling. He pulled me down in the yard and dragged me across the yard to get to a cat. He had been trained to "leave it" and it always worked before, but this time, he did not. I cannot keep him as he is too strong for me and has now tried to bite family members. I have a friend who thinks either she or her friend will buy him and let him run in an enclosed dog area with other bulldogs and such on a horse farm. Horses and dogs are kept separate and he would have some jobs, but mostly lots of play and running and such.

I learn against to medication. chemical is bloat is very increase.. I research own control I best to specialist :) of course itself control interesting!

its good now, but just leraned I'm 11KG over weight!! so that's gonna have to go at end of year all my life i was underweight...now I'm over the other side grrrr, just all that gain from NO exercises...I'm gonna sort something out, and decide how I'd shave that fat gut off..

Better get ur azz in gear, Grummer...Sort of like...Ship Up...or Ship Out....Don't wanna any of those after midnight PM's from a roly-poly guy!...:giggle:...betting that last samwich was peanut butter and jelly....

I learned that a twenty pound dog can pull very hard when it sees a cat. Only had three fingers on the leash. Was holding a flash light and a poop bag. My fingers are so bruised and painful. OUCH!!! My fault though.

Think daughter found a really nice place. She will know soon. Looks promising!!!! Two bedroom, yard for the dog, park across the street. Keeping my bruised fingers crossed.

I learned that some times being a pain in the booty pays off. The whole squeaky wheel gets the oil phenomena...lol.

Kristina..so sorry. I can imagine how hard a bigger dog can pull. My daughters dog did it to me last night. I hurt all over today. Think hubby will do the walking from now on. Even my little 4lb Marley can pull. Are you going to look for another dog? Hope he finds a happy place to live.

Well - the potential buyer I had fell through as she claims I don't have his breed correct. She seems to think he's a boxer when I know for a fact he's an American Bulldog/Labrador mix. He's not quite 2 years old and weighs in at 64-67 pounds.

Once I can get a new home for him, I am planning on another to train. So far, it might me a yellow Labrador, but not positive.

I learned that certain foods come from different countries, this one I heard surprised me. Popcorn comes from Mexico.

Right - but I have heard they also don't naturally pull like Deacon does. Deacon's breed is known for pulling and such whereas a lab isn't as much.

I find that hard to believe. I used to care for one , it pulled me the first couple of times and I even fell. You need to get used to a lab before owning him / her.

Learned that an online friend from another forum whom I will be meeting in a few weeks is very considerate of others. I had mentioned in a thread that I'm deaf/hoh & wear HAs. She sent me a PM asking what she can do to help me hear/understand her (speak a little louder? Face me?).
I thanked her and gave her suggestions. If she's soft spoken then, yes, please speak a little louder, but clarity is more important. And facing me will help though I don't consciously lip-read.

I learned that you can get a rock that looks like looking thru a window into the undersea...

incredible!...as this;

Ethiopian Welo Opal New gem found looks like the ocean in rock

and I want one...if i can get it...how expensive or inexpensive this is, oh good ones are pricy...hmmm maybe some day..., i think Ethiopian Opals are gorgeous

I am numberous crappy. I knew difficult to dizzy hard time sometimes. doesnt' work. hard times spending barries. I figure out exactly on reanzlyed. hmm!

Got the flight info for my daughters dog. They like the dogs on the extremely early flights. We have to leave for the airport at 3:30am. Took him to the vet today for his International Travel check up. Daughter is going to owe me a life time of dog sitting when she returns.

Daughters first day of school didn't start off to well. All the duble decker buses were full and didn't stop at her bus stop. She finally had to take a taxi to school.
