California to expand PA duties

My mother works at children hospital as nurse director, also she was instructor for some nursing courses and handle the internship for students who are new to nursing, graduated from college. She told me about there are not many new doctors and many older doctors are retiring, so it is problem over the US. We need more doctors to support our health as population is growing and some states are looking for extra help, such as paying college expenses for students who are becoming a doctor after graduation and training.

More spending! Perfect!

The army has done it forever, in paying for school with a requirement to serve a certain number of years after.

It's actually a good way to increase the pool of medical professionals.

It pays off big if they are required to practice in places with few professionals for a set time.

Possibly. But, it is more spending now when we don't have it. I don't think many would take the aid with those stipulations.

I don't see his post until you quoted him.

Yup, I agree with you and it isn't bad spending for increase the medical professionals. :)

It is "more spending" while significantly in debt.

It is "more spending" while significantly in debt.

It will be not debt if it was budget surplus.

My mother support movement about help successful college students to becoming a doctor or medical personnel to get out of debt, however it will not cover for students who are projected to not success in the medical major and they have to change the major.

My state is in talk about similar movement for teachers, doctors, nurses and essential staffs, whatever defined by legislature but they are figuring to set the proper system.

For me, I will try everything to increase the doctors and medical personnels to meet the population's demand rather than worry about money issues.

you can't really meet the population's demand if there's a money issue. where are you going to get the money from? they don't work for free.

They will looking for getting money, such as cut the underperforming projects/programs and increase in revenues.

Deficit? - not anymore.
California budget plan has surprise: a surplus - Yahoo! News

The state constitution require budget to be balanced, so not sure if they are exempted because of recession.

A) I was referring to the U.S.

B) Your link is referring to a PLANNED surplus, one many economists don't believe they can fulfill.

C) California has no money to spend. A balanced budget amendment doesn't change that. Tons of homeless people have balanced budgets too.

A) Ok, I'm specifically talk about state - I'm not looking for federal to support the assistance for medical students, so I prefer state to do it.

B) Yes, the upcoming budget plan for 2013-2014. Do you have source to support your claim about economists don't believe those? To be fair, I just provided a link to news about budget surplus. Economists have own philosophies and bias, so I'm taking them as grain of salt.

C) Well, California has to pay off the debt and there are many methods that they can make money.

lol.... state can never ever afford it. ever. that's why we have FAFSA.

seems like you're using these lines all over. I think you have no idea what you're talking about

perhaps it's best to stop relying on articles written by some armchair experts and start learning it yourself.

C) Well, California has to pay off the debt and there are many methods that they can make money.
that's what they have been trying for decades and they haven't had much luck.

B) Your link was a blog. Read it line by line by line. There is no surplus, they are projecting one. It's a hope. Maybe once you have had some accounting courses you will understand. There is one GLOWING accounting scam in your blog. CA is going to underfund municipalities. Why? Because municipalities can declare bankruptcy. Several in CA are already doing that.

C) CA government is completely incompetent when it comes topaying debt. Their finances are a nightmare. They have zero funds, massive debt and massive unfounded liabilities and they are running off there taxpayers ith tax hikes so it is only going to get worse. They are bringing in liabilities with their sanctuary cities and losing revenue to states with better business climates. In a word, they are "screwed"

3) that's what they have been trying for decades and they haven't had much luck.

1) The states could afford if they find way to get money. How we can afford FAFSA when federal budget is in deficit and a lot of debt?

2) The economic is one of most complicated and very hard to understand, so I rather to wait for reality - what happen with state budget at end of year.

3) California was in good shape during 80's and 90's, so situation with Enron (it was one of BIGGEST PICTURE from business course) hurt the state, so it was OK until financial crisis in 2008 hurt the state really badly. I love California and I have strong expectation for this state to resolve the financial issues in matter of time.

Accounting is not my major so I'm not going to take Accounting to understand those. I have limited resource with education and I have to complete the required course to meet my major requirement to receive a degree to find an employment. Are you care to explain about any problem with accounting in link?

C) I don't have anything to say since it is your concern with California and there are some people don't agree with you.

Enron was a Texas company

What do you base those expectations on?
