The new, "great" HD - oh, please.
On one channel it can be super vision, right on the next it is slightly blurry. wtf?????

Uh-oh, HD is the best. Millions of us have HDTVs now. You need to know how to set it up properly like screen aspect ratio setting, etc.

I looked up what Telus offers. It sucks because there are few HD channels like you said before. For example, it offers news channels such as CNN, MSNBC, CNBC and Fox News but CNN is the only one available in HD. In America, they all are available in HD.

Your new HDTV's native resolution is 1080p. You need to set the screen aspect ratio in your STB, my recommendation is 720p so when the signal is sent to your HDTV, it will be converted to its native resolution, 1080p once.

If you are still not happy, why don't you move here in America?

All HD channels support 720p or 1080i but PPV movies on Directv is 1080p.

In some HD channels, they are still airing SD shows with enhancement, especially old shows like Laguna Beach and Rob & Big are SD with 4:3 that air on MTV as retro shows.

SD channels looks terrible and blurry on HDTV, that's normal.

I hate it when they stretch SD (4:3) programs. Makes actors' faces look smaller.

My FiOS doesn't offer 1080p in anything except probably 3-D.

ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS, PBS and CW already WARNED WARNED WARNED you about analog shutoff in 2009 and there is no excuse if you are unaware because they already warned you.
 
Ok, I'll try to reply to everything.

I am not tech savvy, but smart enough to try out all the option on the remote, I will click and click and click click on whatever's there,
and see what happens, lololol
So I did figured out what's what and since last weekend I programmed and re-programmed the damn picture, sound, channels, options etc about maybe 20 times by now, lolol

I think I figured out (and forgot) every configuration that is there :)

And yes, Canada's HD TV sucks big way. BIG WAY. Now enough HD, for starters..

What happen is, I've noticed, if I record Jeopardy in HD the picture is fantastic but so what the CC suck. Not only these are behind, a lot is missing!
I don't have full answers, full dialogues, sometimes I miss the end of answer which drives me bonkers!!!
So I record in regular where the picture sucks but at least CC is whole. wtf?!?!

Now, suppose I record a movie on Move Channel HD 1 (MCHD1) at one time, then another movie at another time on MCHD2.

When I am watching pre-recorded movies later on, I see huge difference in quality - movie #1 have an excellent picture,
while movie #2 has a smaller screen (smaller than my old TV, dammit!!) and a picture is at times so dark I can hardly see anything!
-again- wtf !!!!!

Is it me-can't programm?, or is it the TV???? or is the cable supplier, or is it the station????

arrrgghhh !!!

So far, I tried my best to fix the picture, using the Picture Wizard I programmed to our best like, and that's it for now.

Why won't I move to US? lolol I really wish I could. I can't because my disease -migraine - is very expensive.
My one medication alone cost me over 300 dollars per month easily, just one. Here I am covered. who'd pay for it in US??

Here's the best TV technology. Turn it off and take a walk or read a book. That's what I've had to do.

Are there other cable/satellite TV providers in your area or is Telus the only one? I am asking because if there are other providers, they may offer more HD channels than Telus. For example, in America, we have so many competitors such as DirecTV, Dish Network, Comcast, Charter, Time Warner Cable, Verizon FiOs, AT&T U-verse, etc.

BTW, read the manuals instead of books to become tech savvy.

Do you actually have an option with which cable provider to go use where you are? Everywhere I've lived you get the cable provider that serves that area or you get a dish.

Same here. I just found out that Charter is only one cable service available in my area but luckily Verizon FiOS is available in my area so I switched from DirecTV to FiOS more than 2 years ago. Time-Warner and Comcast are available in other areas nearby. I don't know why.

Ah Comcast is the only option we have for decent speed internet. DSL is slooowwwww where we are located. It would be too expensive to get internet with one provider and TV with another. :(

Cable and DSL services suck because they usually go down especially during VP calls with friends who have one of those services.

What about AT&T U-verse or Verizon FiOS? If not available in your area, I feel sorry for you. Wait and see if Google Fiber will come to your area in near future depending on your living in a city, town or country.

BTW, I assume that there can't be more than one cable company in one area due to FCC's rules so that way other competitors serve different areas equally.
