Wirelessly posted (droid)

Droste is my favorite. I like whipped cream on top. I'm going to make some later now that y'all reminded me.

well, hot cocoa is good in any weather:lol:
Frisky's dream-zone: temporary child-duties removed and hot chocolate!

sally, didn't know about this Droste, now I'm gonna look for it!
do you put chocolate sprinkles in the whipped cream?

Banjo, I never made home-made hot cocoa. How long does it take?

:ty: Banjo

there is something special <for me> about having hot cocoa in the Winter.
especially in front of a fireplace watching a good movie!

I had some that was Candy Cane hot chocolate, and it was really good. That ran out, and I bought a big container of Nestle hot chocolate.

You would think it would be great since it is Swiss, but it is harder to disolve in the hot water. However, after I got it made, I used some of the marshmallows from my Smores kit, and it was very good.

Land O Lakes makes some hot chocolate in individual envelopes in different flavors, and I hope to get some of that later as the weather gets colder and more is out in the stores.

I like Ghiradelli double chocolate mix. I mix it with coffee and and frothy milk, then sprinkle some unsweetened cocoa powder on top for a nice mocha.

I want to make some Mexican hot chocolate. I've been looking up the way to do it right. Apparently I need this: [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Ibarra-Mexican-Chocolate-18-6-oz/dp/B0000GH6UG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1318364588&sr=8-1]Ibarra Mexican Chocolate, 18.6 oz: Amazon.com: Grocery & Gourmet Food[/ame]

I use cayenne pepper in my hot chocolates. A touch. It adds the kick at the end.

One time I added a bit more than a touch... That did not even go over well.

It's pretty easy. People often use Hershey's Cocoa, but you can buy other brands, they are usually just as good or sometimes better. it depends on what you do with it and how much to serve as well. I would say roughly 15 to 25 minutes.

I'll have to try that one. I make them dried for the expeditions, just add hot water.

I better stay away from this thread or i keep drinking hot cocoa when i see this thread. My kids will get upset with me when i wipe all of the hot cocoa packets. Blame on this thread.

Mmmmmm.... cocoa! Let the others have their coffee or tea. I've never cared for either. But a nice cup of cocoa? You bet! Many days it's my little evening treat. I've found Swiss Miss Sensible Sweets very good and guilt free.
