I posted a while back that my hearing seems to be improving. I had a new audiogram done today. In comparison to my best audiogram of the last 4 years I went up 10db in every range except 8k which went up 20db. They were able to makes some adjustments to my HA and I was able to hear well at dinner tonight. Not really sure what is causing the change. :dunno:

Very interesting. Are you taking different vitamin supplements, by any chance? Fish oil is said to help preserve hearing, although I've never read that it will *restore* hearing.

One audi told me to keep up with exercise, because increased blood flow throughout your body also means increased blood flow to the ear's interior, and that's a good thing. (Hasn't actually made a bit of difference in my hearing, far as I know, but I'll agree it's a good thing anyway.)

alot of changes actually. I do take Fish Oil but I have for a long time. I increased my Magnesium alot and started taking a "super vitamin" I also switched to an all organic diet, ditched soda and I am sticking with the steam after workouts. :dunno:

California's more stable climate may be a factor as well. My hearing would always go way down in extreme heat or during storms.

Maybe there was a fluid buildup that seemed to resolve itself?

Maybe less inflammation? Taking anything for that?

that is a part of it no doubt. But my Audi doesn't think it could account for all of it. In fact you may remember from old post my Audi questions whether or not it was Menieres in my left ear..... She has said that my left ear acts more like a Perilymph Fistula. However that has never shown up on scans. I Mayer be having another scan next week to see if it was possibly missed.

It certainly sounds like allergies. It can cause fluids in your ears. You know that the pollen in Dallas is extremely high. Did you sneeze often and have any sinus problems in Dallas?

I live in Dallas for three years, and took hearing exam here. The result is no response for the first time in 32 years, you know why? Fluids clog up my ears due to pollens.

I had to eliminate grains, and it seems to clear it up.

I have never had any allergies issues in California before I moved here.

Very possible.....especially if my Audi is right. But what's strange is I actually have stopped taking meds for pain. I used to be a advil addict. Lol. Lots of football on turf.

BTW..... All of the changes above came about on day in SF. I had just got there that morning and was walking and caught a wiff of myself.....and I stunk bad. Which made no sense to me because I shower enough to end a drought. So I decided it must be internal. I ditched soda, went organic, hit the steam room to sweat bad stuff out and ditched beer (well cut back). After a month no more funk, and I felt like I was 25. And get this....my hair started regaining some color.....less gray. I was only going to do this for a while but Im not stopping now. Lol

I meant to include that to with the heat. My allergies are real bad in TX but they cause headaches more than sneezing. My first year in California was rough allergy wise at the start but got better. I think I just had to get used to the plants there. There is one plant in both Dallas and CA that kills me but luckily I rarely see it. I don't know what it is. I will snap a pic someday and see if anyone else knows

You were able to smell yourself? Huh? How can you smell yourself enough to determine that you stink and that it's due to internal toxins? I'm confused but not completely confused...

oic.... taking tips from some people on forum :dunno:

Oh, I bet! The pollen in Dallas is so awful. I may recognize the plant if you take a pic of it.

Tip: Don't stay too long in Fresno during the summer if it gets really hot there, because the pollen is trapped in the valley. My sister in law used to live there, and is a major sufferer. She sneezes like crazy.

Well it was a guess really. But I knew I was clean and my clothes were clean. It was a pretty bad smell too.
