Rural living means less stress

That's why I am laughing here.

And at the failure of knowing the definition of rural.

This town - Estes Park, Colorado
Estes_Park-600x390.png

is a rural town.

I've seen smaller. Oh, and I do know what rural is. Funny thing, where did I ever produced a definition of what rural is?

Maybe because HE started this thread, and is now crying foul about what rural means?

it ain't rural if Redbox is that close to you

I could argue with that. When I lived out in the boonies on 1 1/2 acres of land and had all these cows and horses all over. Neighbors were basically 1-3 miles apart from each other except for us and the landlord. We could drive 3 miles to the Casey's General store at the one and only stop light in town and there was a Redbox in that Casey's.

Rural has to do with out in the country. Simple as that.

Would you say Buena Vista, Colorado a rural town?

That's the beauty of Redbox. It's essentially self-maintaining. And you put it in rural town of 2,000 people. Redbox does not equate with living in the city.

Where I was is totally out in the country, 22 miles from the nearest big city and has a population of 1272 inside the city limits.

Ah, oh...him. Got it. My bad.

Not him either. A lot of people have no clue what rural exactly is. The general accepted definition is that it's back in the countryside.

A ton of mountain towns are rural, just because it is smaller than 20,000 people and at least 20 miles away from the closest city that has a population of 50,000+. This is according to the USDA Rural Development office.

That is why I threw in the mountain town of Estes Park picture. Estes park does not feel rural at all, but it is.

Rural or not - if you drive more than 10 miles to rent a redbox movie, you're a fool. This is why a friend has a netflix sub.

I already made my point with my map. Redbox kiosks are all over the place, including small rural towns.

Redbox means there is a mall, Walmart, or commercial establishment. Redbox is not a self-maintaining device. It requires electricity and internet connection.

So referring to PFH's post about Estes Park, CO, the nearest Redbox is about 20+ miles away.... in Loveland.

There's only like two redboxes in my area and I live in a heavily populated area... How strange. We do have other versions of redboxes though like.. instant flix something?

We have the netflix too. We use our Wii for it. We don't bother with the cable/satellite in that room, only the Wii with Netflix. Costs a mere $10 for a whole month, whether you watch movies on the Wii or get them through the mail. So my SO is on that TV all day long while I'm at work

Blue Box is coming along, too. Companies are finding values in these kiosks. You don't need to hire a person to run it. Just stock it with DVDs and such. Maintain it once in awhile. It never complains about standing around.

Here's Colorado. Lots of Redbox kiosks in rural towns....including Buena Vista...a town of 2,100.

Just because there's Redbox nearby doesn't mean you're in a city.

nope - never said that Redbox means you're in city or near it. Just that you're a city slicker living in "rural" area near to convenience area like me

I did complain while standing around because this idiot is taking too long to decide on which movie to rent  and I was being impatient because Florida heat was getting to me.
