I was on the pill for ages, but when I went back to grad school and was working I kept forgetting it. I'm on the NuvaRing now, which I'm liking so far.

Mother had one, doc cut the cord too short. When it came time for removal there were major issues and major blood loss and MRSA. CDC was called in, mom took 10 (ten) units of blood, contracted Hep C (1986 before testing was done for anything except HIV/AIDS) and now she has cirrhosis of the liver.

My advice - stay away from an IUD unless your doc knows totally what they are doing.

He knew I was dead dead serious. But we had a long long talk beforehand so he knew how crucial it was to me that this is a permanent procedure.

Clipping - slang for sterilization. Cutting and destroying the ends of a woman's Fallopian tubes (sterilization), or cutting and sealing a man's two vas deferens tubes (vasectomy).
