It was the outsourcing by those who hated the natural costs of unions who made the fine mess we are in.

My words and my actions match up perfectly. Just because I purchased a foreign car from a friend does not mean that I don't also support unions or collective bargaining rights for unionized workers. You got to stop trying to look at issues so superficially. :D

IBA (Iron Butt Association) is a very hardcore, internationally-recognized organization. Anybody who has completed IBA rally which is hosted every 2 years is a true hardcore rider. IBA rally = 11,000 miles in 11 days. Only few riders out of hundreds have completed it. Since 2001 - only 2 riders have completed it with HD bikes. Rest had either Japanese or BMW.

Whatever happens at IBA actually determines motorcycle companies' fate. After the race, experts and reviewers comment on it. HD did not fare very well. That's why you see so many bikers riding Honda Goldwing instead of Harley-Davidson Electra Glide. The funny thing is that it is quite common for them to rent HD bikes just for "patriotic rally".

It's a shame that HD losts its glory. and it's also a huge shame that HD shut down Buell. shame... shame..... shame....

It's sad that Harleys are of poor quality. My sister and my brother in law do not ride hondas. I think they're suzuki something..

Pretty much goes with most anti-union people, especially in southern and inner western states that where unions had been weak for many years.

My money is where my mouth is. I put American fuel in my car, and everytime a part needs replaced, my mechanic makes good money manufacturing it.:cool2

You seem to be under the mistaken assumption that auto industry employees are the only unionized employees around.

Yup, the cost of domestic and foreign automobiles are similar and very competitive, even worker's pay at Honda factory in Alabama and Ford factory in Michigan are very similar too.

And my Daewoo probably has more parts actually made by an American worker's hands than TxGolfer's vehicle did coming right off the assembly line.
