Most politicians are arrogant, at least to some degree. They wouldn't be in politics if they didn't think they were pretty smart, capable of seeing solutions to problems, good leaders, and so forth.

Sometimes they are accurate in their self-evaluation, sometimes - not so much. Some are nicer people than others; some are smarter than others. But you're not going to find many politicians who are low on the self-esteem scale.

Overly self confident and self esteem are not the same construct.

There's a fine line between a healthy dose of self confidence and self esteem and being full of it.

Right, if you wanted it to look ugly, you would have joined the neighbors with a McCain sign.

He has passed the line from overly self confident into delusions of grandeur:

ATLANTA — Republican Herman Cain said God convinced him to enter the race for president, comparing himself to Moses: "’You’ve got the wrong man, Lord. Are you sure?’"

Nope. And it just speaks to the overblown ego that he has. No wonder he says he "didn't do anything wrong" in the sexual harrassment claims. His ego tells him he is so far above everyone else that they can be treated any way he wants to treat them. That is the sense of entitlement I spoke about in the other thread.

I didn't bother voting for state senator or congressman because there were no one running against the Republican members.

Cain, the former CEO of Godfathers Pizza, has opted for defiance, firmly denying all allegations as he pushes his insurgent campaign toward the Jan. 3 Iowa caucuses.

Cain slips in poll Private polling suggests the harassment controversy has taken a bite out of Cain's once-solid lead in Iowa. And a new nationwide CBS News poll out Friday indicates he has lost support among Republican women.

The CBS News poll said Cain's support among Republican women has dropped since late October, from 28 percent then to 15 percent now. Rick Perry tries humor while Herman Cain uses denial to deal with campaign stumbles | cleveland.com

To answer your question

Yes, I do.

You will notice I was answering a question from a poster. So as much as you don't like it, I give respect to try to always answer someone's ?
And do it on the applicable thread, in otherwords, the ? was asked right here so I answered it right here.

Just asked my hubby what he thought of Cain...

he said, " He isnt a person I would follow into war...heck not even follow him to a baselball game. He doesnt project an aura of respect."

We have never discussed Cain until I recently texted him about it just 5 mins ago. Seems like my hubby got the same vibes I did about him. Interesting.

I didn't pay attention to Cain till this thread came up but from what I see, I don't think I'd trust him either.

I don't pay much attention to any of them until about next spring. Lots of things will happen that we have no part of between now and then. Once the primaries start, then I sit up.
